What's coming up next?

Hey all, hopefully these last couple days of 2024 have been treating you well. Here’s the next couple of things I've got planned at the moment as 2025 looms large on the horizon.

- Working on a new micro character (and some more micro animations):

I mentioned a while back on here that I wanted to make a new micro character to pair off with Rog and Lugromm, and that’s still the case.

He’ll be the first of several general-purpose human micro characters I have in mind; to be grouped up with future general-purpose macros, or to be used when a more detailed background character is required in other things.

Once he’s done I’ll be working on a couple of micro-focused animations involving him, Rog and Lug (though I’ll be looking to break this streak of 'micro-only' ones up with some other types of animations too).

- (New) EEVEE style tests:

As much as I’ve enjoyed working with Cycles when it comes to renders, I’ve certainly started to feel the strain of working with it for animations recently (at least with my current hardware setup). That’s given me a good excuse to try EEVEE (Blender’s other rendering engine) again and to tackle something that’s been on my mind recently:

How exactly do I want things to look?

It’s not something I had much control over back in my SFM days, but I’ve got an incredible amount of control over it in Blender. I'm currently in the process of redoing shaders for a bunch of new buildings I got recently, so I'll be continuing in that same vein with other stuff in EEVEE and my next set of renders and animations.

And I'll see if I can settle on a look and style I like.

All that being said, this shouldn’t be taken as me being ‘done’ with Cycles. I’ll still be using it for stuff, and now that I’m more confident with compositing I don’t have to be limited to one particular render engine either.

- (New) Motu and Darius vore animation:

Since I’m still in the process of building up my 3d asset library (buildings, vehicles, foliage, street furniture, etc.), my usual staple of rampaging macros is currently relegated to renders. At least until I’ve collected enough stuff to properly fill out the scenes I have in mind for future animations.

That being said, there are other kinds of macro shenanigans to get up to in animations and one area I’ve been interested in playing around with more is vore. Orcish Breakfast contained a bit of it, but I’ve yet to do a fully vore-focused animation and some macro vore feels like a good way to break up my currently planned run of micro-focused ones.

I also haven’t done an animation with Motu and Darius either, and they’re a very vore-centric pair (among other things).
