New Years Resolution

New year, new goals! I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to this year. My resolution this year is to, "Succeed, don't just survive."

For the last 4 months, I took a big leap of faith: I moved into an apartment and slowly got loaded with all the bills, while simultaneously I quit my retail job and went solely onto Patreon/commission income. It wasn't always smooth, but I am doing pretty good. I'm happy to say that I can survive on my Patreon income, so a big big big thank you to all those who have supported me through Patreon/SubscribeStar and though vore pack purchases.

Now that I have confidence, and I've found a job that I actually enjoy, I'm hoping to ramp up my abilities and succeed this year. My goal is to have a Patreon income of $800 per month or greater, as that will allow me to start putting money back into savings like I was doing when I was working retail. My plan to get there is to learn new skills and possibly get new software to push myself further into making my own models.

Last year my resolution was to draw more, and I did fail at that. I did not commit to drawing like I had hoped. However, I did learn another skill, and that was soft body sculpting in Zbrush. My sculpting skills and drawing skills were basically on par with each other, and now I am able to sculpt models from start to (near) finish. I was even able to 3D print my own sculpts, which has been such a cool thing to do. So even though I did not draw, I did learn a new skill, so I'm not gonna beat myself up for that.

How am I going to 'succeed'? Some of it will be easy. I have a terrible habit of going to bed at 4 am and waking at 2 pm. That has to change. I figure a more rigorous and normal work schedule will do me a lot of good, as I'll actually feel like I have more time in the day to do things. I will also look into my programs; since some of them are a bit outdated, specifically my Substance Painter/Designer and my Lightwave programs. I'd like to re-subscribe to Substance to get the newest builds, though that one is slightly out of my reach at the moment. I'd also consider getting Maya, though that one is tremendously expensive. However, if I combine Maya, Substance, and Zbrush, that is a great software package to start making my own things. Speaking of which, I hope to release my own things for Daz Studio. My most recent project making some good progress is an attachable female genitals for my dragons. Plus I'll have my stomach model and a new womb model for unbirthing fun. :3

I'm also planning on streaming more. Right now I do it on Thursdays or Fridays, though I may try for a Monday stream as well. This will be up in the air until I get a feel for how my classes will go.

I think the biggest challenge I'll face is school. It's my last semester. While super exciting, it also means some of the hardest classes ever are coming up. I'll be spending 3 times more time dedicated to homework over the next 4 months. The structured schedule will help, but I'll have to find a way to juggle my time and projects. One of my final projects will be a new temple for Harvock; expect some WIP shots as I work on it.

So yeah, a bit of a ramble, but to summarize, I gots plans:

I'm going to structure my work days to make better use of my time.

I'm going to use that time to create a lot more, from more complex commissions to downloadable models.

I will have a lot of homework, so these first months will be rough, but I'll be learning some new stuff to help with those complex commissions.
