Need Some Advice

I am very, very seriously considering quitting my retail job.

I've simply had it. From dealing with the risk of covid exposure to working with customers who don't seem to care, I simply can't do it anymore. Even today, a day where my customers were actually nice and pleasant, I left feeling totally dead inside.

The problem though is the money. It is now the only thing keeping me there. While I do live at home (which really sucks at my age), I have a few expenses, like my car and school. My Patreon page covers my car right now, but school is an entire other beast. Currently Patreon is paying me ~$350-400 per month. To cover school, the car, and my other expenses I need double that.

Of course if I want to make Patreon my full time job instead of just a hobby, I need it to actually be worth it to you.

Should I actually quit, what features would you like to see on my Patreon/Subscribestar pages?

 - Streams are at the top of my list at the moment

 - I'm starting to make my own models, so I have certainly considered distributing those.

 - Sadly, stories are not going to be an option. I need the drive to write, and I have not had it in a while.

 - While I'd love to make vore packs more regular, I only have my one PC for rendering, editing, and gaming. Its something I'd try for, though its a lot of extra rendering time on my PC.

Please share your thoughts. Any feedback is welcome.

Also, the plan for April:

I will have finals this month, and I'm already feeling the pressure. I will only have 1 set of polls for this month.

I work two part time retail jobs, so I understand the struggle. It can be tough but if you really need the money then I personally feel the better thing to do is to grit your teeth for the time being. At the very least until you're sure that you can make due without it, or if you can find a different part time job that might be a bit better for you. Essentially, don't put yourself into a position that leaves you struggling. Are you able to take vacation time off for like a week to hopefully help ease back the stress? I know some places are really stingy about giving vacation to part timers. I think the question you should ask alongside this is if you feel school is worth pursuing, or if it's worth taking out of your savings if you do quit. Since that's the main thing your job is paying for.

I never worked in retail (thank god) so I have no experience there. But if your job is that shit, that you seriously consider leaving, I think you already have half left. The money is a problem, but if possible, I would firstly get more income before leaving the sinking ship. Doing your art full time, could increase all of this, but I personally would be afraid of it not working out quite the way I wanted. I cannot really give a recommendation. That sounds like a tough decision you have to do. Whatever you do, please stay safe and sound and I wish you the best.

A generic guy. Don't mind the name. Stop reading!

I feel ya. I work at a computer retail store also and it's gotten way worse after the holidays. I may be jumping the retail ship soon too. I do freelance work as well and getting closer to it being a full time job. It's a steep hill but mistakes just mean learning new solutions to success. Whatever you choose will be the right path, don't doubt yourself :)

So I make enough to keep up with my car and my programs, which is good. If I lose my job and can't grow in Patreon, I'm not going to lose anything. I do have savings that I can use toward school, though that is not ideal. Basically its either pay for school out of savings or drop the school. Or succeed in Patreon and do neither of those. That's where its tough, because I know my efforts to grow my Patreon so far have not been successful.

I mean, I'm part time now. And while a gas station would be much easier, I'm really hoping to never see another customer in general.

A lot of people in the service industry are feeling the same as you right now. I just came out of retirement last month to go back to work at my old job (I am a regional manager). Stores are having an awful time keeping anyone, the public has been horrible to retail workers and I don't see it getting any better any time soon. The stress level in stores is off the charts. As far as what to do, that is hard to say right now. Do you think you can make enough on patreon? I would hate to say no. But I am not you, and can't really answer that. Do what is best for you. Those of us that support you will be here as long as we can.

I actually quit my job at a grocery chain and it was the best decision of my life. Why not try shooting for something part time at a small gas station? That’ll give you more time for content which will attract more patrons
