Princess

Let me tell you a tragic tale of a princess who tried to stop her own wedding:

This princess's family owned more land than any other nearby kingdom. This was never enough for the king though, and he found a way to acquire even more land and wealth: through a marriage between his daughter and the prince of a nearby kingdom.

She really didn't like that idea. The prince there was arrogant, and an egomaniac. Despite her protesting, her father did not listen: she was going to be married to this guy, and the rest of her life would just be her listening to him brag about some jousting game he just won.

The princess, however, was not going to just give up though. She formed a plan to get rid of the prince, and it was pretty straight forward. There was a dragon who resided at some nearby ruins. This was not just some brutish animal either, it was intelligent, and the kingdom had actually made a deal with this dragon: they share some of the winter stockpile of food and stay out of his territory, and in return he would not attack the kingdom. It was a strong deal that they renewed every year through a feast.

Surely this dragon would be able to help her, and that prince would never miss a chance to swell his ego and save his lady. She left a note in his quarters, 'begging' for his help, then snuck out to find the dragon. 

It did not take long to find the dragon. He was lazing in the ruins, and he allowed her to approach without threat. He had become lazy with the free food from the kingdom. After a surprisingly short talk, he agreed to help her on one condition: if he came or not, he was still going to eat someone. She knew what he was implying, but surely that prince would be too high and mighty to not come and save her. 

Well, it was almost sunset now and there was still no rescuing prince. The dragon had slowly been teasing and 'prepping' her for the last hour or so, and all she could do at this point was actually pray that this moron would show up and save her before this dragon decided it was dinner time...
