I think it's fine to keep the poll as is. It's a place for the fans to express themselves and at the end of the day only one character gets picked, so most of it is still left up to the artist. If you really want to force more variation, it's possible to make a rule that the winner of last month's poll will not be in the next one. Personally, I think it's fine either way. Just do what you think is right.
