Great question, but oh boy did you kick the hornet's nest. Do you have any idea the amount of complaints I heard about that arc? My head canon says yes. If you'll recall, Gothic was rewarded in his last dimension and in his HUD he still has a jump button. Right now, he's keeping it in reserve if the shit hits the fan, essentially a break glass in case of emergency type thing....like imminent death.
