Real-life work continues to rather selfishlessly intrude on my dreams of writing super-stardom, but at least after much consternation and writing-blockage, I managed to push through into the far side of the final chapter. I think. Hopefully, it'll be ready to publish by early next week.
Last year at around this time, I gifted myself a little "writing retreat". I saved up the proceeds from the patreon for a couple of months and then rented a cheap little AirBnB down by the coast for three nights. I woke up, ate, wrote, went for a walk, wrote, ate lunch, went for a walk, read, wrote, ate dinner, drank too much, slept. I managed about 10k that weekend, finishing off Book 4 and launching into Book 5.
Well, it's a year later and I've decided to do the same. A few months of Patreon monies, and I've got a little room - well, okay, a shed in somebody's back garden - booked for the weekend. I've got some fine reading queued up to read, and high hopes of surpassing last year's word count.
Unlike last year, I'm less sure what to write. On the one hand, polishing off Book 5 makes sense. But I've also got an urge to just try my hand at something completely different - or pick up Lamb again - I don't know. We'll see where the urge takes me.
Anyway, assuming it doesn't all go wrong for some reason, I'll have a chapter of something to share next week.

Thank you! I'm all settled in to my little writing shed, and kicking off with Constant, for now, and we'll see where the weekend brings me.
