Writing Update: 02-08-25
Added 2025-08-02 13:48:14 +0000 UTCApologies, again, for the delayed or missed update.
So, the summer tends to be a tricky time for me and writing. In the past, I've just written it off: last year, I shuttered the Patreon for a month. I'm loath to do that again. First, because it hurts the Patreon. But also, because my writing conditions have changed.
Throughout Constant's history, I've written it in the shadows, so to speak, it's been a secret project of mine hidden from friends and family. This made it very difficult to write at times, like during holidays. Recently, I opened up to those closest to me that for the past decade (or longer) that I've actually written half a million words of a dystopian gender bending erotic thriller.
Consequently, I'm hoping to keep writing throughout these summer months. The difficulty is that finding the time to do so is often challenging. I'm a parent, and in these weeks of summer holiday my every free hour is absorbed by childcare.
I'm learning to carve out some time for myself. But it's a work in progress. In the short term, there may be some interruption to normal service. But I'm going to do my best to keep writing and keeping up the pace. I'd quite like to have Book 5 done by the end of the summer!
Should it prove impossible, I'll either freeze the Patreon for a month, or refund patrons subscription for this period.

I'm proud of you for sharing your story secret with some of the people in your life. That must have been nerve wracking to say the least. I hope it's been a freeing sensation for you. If you must take time off I'd ask you not to refund anything to me. I'd even rather you not freeze the Patreon, but that's just me. There are quite a few people here now so I may well be in the minority. I see my subscription not so much as paying for monthly content as supporting the whole story and the author taking time to unwind and have a life on occasion is part of that.
