Oh hey, new character! Back in the early stages of Clarissa's roommate polling I said I'd add an additional Indian friend, and here she is!

Samaira Kumari Singh Rathore

Age 18-22 (in college) 22 (in the narrative present), from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. sometimes goes by SK Singh or just SK for short.

Samaira was the girl's neighbor in the dorms in college. An international student from India, she came to the US to study economics - in theory this is so she can help manage her family's money, but in practice she doesn't really need to work (because her family has money). Instead, she gets herself involved with mysterious, sinister, and possibly supernatural happenings, because she's very headstrong and determined, but maybe not completely sensible - a lot like Miyuki in fact.

Shown here in a traditional Indian outfit (Churidar, more casual than a sari), and nude, which is traditional in general.

Additional design notes:

Indian women from India (as opposed to British Indians, Indian Americans, etc.) almost universally grow their hair out as long as possible - the traditional style is a center part, usually with a long braid although sometime it will be loose or done up. A very common modern look is a side part with a big wave of hair with lots of volume - I tried this first but she looked too much like Selena, so I went for the traditional center parting. Likewise I gave her slightly lighter skin.

While in the US she would mostly wear western clothing because traditional Indian clothes aren't really warm enough for most of the year. She would do saris for formal occasions though - in India a proper formal sari is considered more formal than a western evening dress.

Samaira is a Rajput Hindu. While Singh is a common Sikh name, it is used throughout India, typically added as an honorific at some pint (it means "lion").

I haven't decided if she knows Bengali yoga instructor/assassin and Miyuki's doppelgagner Malini Sengupta, but that would be quite the coincidence...
