This week was...

OK.

So I need to be smarter about how we release content, and by which we inform you about that content.

Fact is, we're competing with literally everything, and it's a miracle ANY of you watch us in favor of a dozen series adaptations of your favorite book or comic series. With that in mind, I need to be smarter about this.

If you didn't recognize Jason from yesterday's bonus Elseworlds episode (or more likely, you didn't watch it because it wasn't about comics at all), he's been on Back Issues a handful of times, and if he lived nearby during the development of ComicPop, he'd have been a regular member of the team.

Unofficially, I'd like to try and incorporate Jason into more remote videos we do, like Elseworlds. He's a smart, funny guy and has a lot to offer. And I think the more experience he gets, the easier it'll be for all of you to know him like we do.

But that episode was clearly not the way to do it.

Even though ComicPop is our main bread and butter, ComicPop Returns (CPR) is 100% the NEXT most important thing. And since it was already an allowance to do the new channel, we need to make sure we're not cluttering or overwhelming you. As excited as I am to bring Jason to you guys (along with the half-dozen new show/modifications I have in mind), I need to do that gradually and consistently.

So here's my informal (hopefully soon-to-be formal) schedule/plan for CPR. And btw-- TELL me what you think of this! If you're seeing this, you're a producer on all our series and I need your input. So here we go:

-Monday evenings are still reserved for Off the Rack, but all creator interviews will be truncated and incorporated into this show as a small promotion/insight into their craft. Unless we have a great reason for a full-ass episode, this should be the norm.

-Our Let's Talk series is working, despite how I feel about Elseworlds' reception this week. That said, we need to make sure those topics are bigger and more important to you, the viewer.

-GBU needs two big changes: a 1-2 times per month release schedule, and bigger/more popular books/characters. This doesn't mean we're ignoring the obscure themed episodes, but it needs to be couched in those magnet episodes that bring in the majority of viewers.

-Finally, Elseworlds Exchange is undergoing the biggest overhaul. Starting next week, EE is going every other week, still Fridays unless we figure out a better release day. Any bonus Elseworlds episodes BECOME the main show, and are no longer supplements to it. Right now if the audience gets two eps of EE, they watch one and not the other.

So that's the plan for the time being, and we'll see how it fares. But I'm sick of not having a plan, and I'm tired of being surprised. The only thing I'm happy to be surprised by is how awesome you all remain. We're so damn lucky to have this Patreon going, and your insights and honesty have been HUGE. Thank you all.
