making of ~window~

I need your advise! I had this idea of taking a photo of Stella behind my studio window. The problem is, that the windows are over a hundreds year old and they are not really clear. I tried to clear them with hydrochlorid acid (I am a teacher of chemistry), but it wouldnt work.

So thats the best result I could achieve. Do you consider that as a photo?

Yes, it's a photograph. It's not the vision you had in mind, and that vision is unclear to the rest of us -- not unlike the old window that resists your best efforts to clarify. So removing panes of glass is (I'm guessing) not an option, and you've rejected the idea of mocking up your vision in post-production (image editing the clear effect into the old frame as if there were no glass). I think what you have in mind an expensive vision that will cost time in post or practical fabrication of a simulated window plus the cost of Stella's reshoot. I don't know what you had in mind, but this photograph you made is not bad, and a polarizing filter cuts glare, not decades.

Hi, what is CPL?

Have you considered using a CPL to cut the reflections ? To me that's what bothers me the most in that picture. Otherwise I love it. 🙂
