NSFW Expanse - What do you think?

I wanna run a couple of questions by you all, since it's been over half a year now of my art in Patreon, so seems like it's time to do a little research on how you feel about it. One question at a time. For now, I want to know your preference on the following point:
> Do you want to see more sexual themes going on?
(still in all females territory, ofc)
I get a lot of suggestions to lean my work more openly into adult stuffs and I'd like to. But, maybe because my art started on the "sexy but tame" side, I've found some sensitiveness about it over the years. Like some people might think a passive nude girl is artsy and awesome, but if she's playing with some toys it's suddenly porn and inconvenient. I honestly can't care less about such arbitrary boundary (I enjoy all sides of things) as long as quality and style stands. But at the same time I'm in no position to risk scaring away half my patrons, if they don't agree to that sort of arts... So let me hear you, okay? I just need your green-light on this matter. Either way, rest assured not -all- the art will be sexual if the vote goes that way. It doesn't mean to be so much a change of direction, only achieving some more wider scope.

If people not interested can overlook those specific pieces and still enjoy the rest, that would be just fine I think?

But Fegu don't you dare to stop creating arts like you do for now :) I'd like to see both versions - soft and hard... depends on character and situation. You are one of my favourite artist coz of your drawing skill and those expressions on character faces / poses... but sometimes i like to see something more... ekhem... "porn" as you said so give us a sample and i think everyone will approve that :)

It's a small part of the reasons why I decided to open up and make this little poll about it, wondering where those new waifu pieces would fit within my current gallery.

2016-02-12 14:08:29 +0000 UTCYus, I've threaded on that slope before, discussing with commission clients, and I know the pressure. ^^' But I also know myself, and my own taste sets the limits, for is my art after all. Are countless the jobs I've declined to remain true to it. You are right, and is good advice about keeping things in-character. I think the extra spice can only add to the fun as long as the character shows involvement in it, and remains on the palette of believable emotions. Been always part of my goals to keep things that way! : )

The depiction of all your characters are always true and lively, love them for that, and I trust wholly as how you would chose to approach that extra spice for each, if at all. I also do like the different flavour/feel in which your SFW adds compared to your NSFW, and hope that Love+ adds yet another dimension. You have my vote. ( ^_^)b

Ce que tu fais en Tier3 est déjà bien assez NSFW, pas besoin d'en rajouter une couche, ni d'augmenter la dose de porn sur les images. Personnellement c'est ce que j'aime dans ce que tu fais, peu de NSFW mais juste ce qu'il faut, avec les bonnes proportions. C'est parfait ! Donc mon avis : Non, pas besoin ^^

I think NobleCrimson's idea is something very worth exploring as well, especially as the Waifu awards are mostly about OCs, and people will be more invested in seeing their characters depicted as they are meant to be (and I think that's a very good thing!). That also goes for the non-Waifu-award pieces, methinks; as sexuality is something that most of us think is up to each and everyone of us to think and judge about, so it should be for the fictional characters being depicted as well, i.e. their individual NSFW-ness should be up to their individual characterization. That said, there is one question that I've been meaning to ask you, especially since your last reply to another comment I made on one of your posts - I'll be sending you a message regarding this question soon.

IMO, the only way to guarantee that stays level/improves is if the artist themselves are enjoying what they do. If you get ideas that intrigue you, then you should make art of it. Sexy, or tame, or just plain, shouldn't really matter. Unless your art becomes stale(same stuff over and over and over), I'll be sticking around(and hope others do too).

Some characters are just more inclined to be put in those situations, while others look better (and are more in-character) being shown more tame. ^^ It's about making it believable, more than anything

There still is meant to be a plenty of 'safe' or 'risque' pieces going on, so lower Tiers would get their share. But then I can expand a little further on naughtier things for T3 supporters. It's all meant to add to the fun (of interested patrons and my own!) not to take from it. ^^

2016-02-12 03:10:27 +0000 UTCIf your worried on the transition to a more adult oriented theme with your artwork then just easy yourself into it (even tho everyone here is here for your art not so much theme) by doing what your doing now. Then slowly introduce the new stuff as the days go on. As an example ( not saying you'll do it this way, but ) do two of your original theme and one with an experimental theme. Other then that by all means do what you please, at the end of the day you art of the female form is amazing.

You may, however, want to make a backer tier that excludes nsfw content; that way those who'd want to opt out may...hm...although that'd lead to quite a few extra backer tiers huh?
