UDUG Aug. Voting Round Two - which series to cover??
Added 2024-08-10 02:40:54 +0000 UTCCongrats on this month's UDUG winner - Modes Gone Wild! The polls closed yesterday and this one took it pretty handily. But now to choose which series to discuss!
The point of this show is to highlight the port/version exclusive mini games or extra modes. For example, Resident Evil 2 for N64 has a random item mode exclusive to that version. Mortal Kombat Deception has a puzzle game, but Armageddon had a damn Kart Racer! The WiiU Port of Tekken Tag 2 had an exclusive Nintendo-themed mode with mushrooms that grow or shrink fighters. And then of course nearly every single Tetris game ever has a unique mode that is exclusive to that version or port
I'll try my best to research and document every specific special mode for each series, (except in the case of Tetris, I don't think I'll be able to research EVERY Tetris game, haha) I'll let this run over the weekend, ending Monday morning so I can get started that evening.
Also quick health update - my sinus surgery was rescheduled to October! Which I'm pretty upset about because I waited most of the summer to get this procedure. And this means you wont see me with splints in my nose for this video, sorry! But here's hoping I can film something in October haha!

2024-08-11 18:32:19 +0000 UTCI know RE2 is the one in question, but I always love showing off the Battle Mode in the Saturn version of RE1, which may have been the first game to have a battle mode? Anyway, Iām really excited to see what RE2 has to offer across its releases!

2024-08-10 05:29:42 +0000 UTCI'm having difficulty finding it, but during COVID I came across an article about someone who was literally making a different comically broken version of Tetris playable online every week. One week, the pieces would be way too long to play, the next week they might be far too large, and another week the remaining bits and bobs may not drop when you clear lines below them -it was always intentionally broken in some entertaining way. If you're able to find that, there might practically be enough content for an entire video. The game was exclusively playable in browser with basic keyboard controls (making it night unplayable on mobile devices and many tablets), no download was required. Sorry I can't find the link anymore, but when I search for it now, the results are dominated by the teen who "beat" Tetris a couple years ago, making it difficult to locate this now. :(
