State of the Skeleton: You like Castlevania, don't you?

Hi all! I am writing this from the sunny (and cold!) Spokane, WA airport. I got to take a couple days off this week to visit with my family before they migrate south for the Winter. Yay! However, this update is going to be a bit shorter as a consequence.

Bye Twitter?

Unless you live under a blessed rock, you might have heard a thing or two about Twitter’s chaotic past couple of weeks. Weirdly enough, it used to be Derek and I’s favorite social platform, and the one we primarily used outside of YouTube and the Discord to talk to fans. But it’s time to move on.

Let me know in the comments below which social media network you frequent the most! It’ll help us know where to focus up on.

Castlevania Game.Com

The early part of our week was spent primarily finalizing the Game Room video, but Castlevania for the Game.Com is moving along nicely! I am extremely excited about it, and as you can probably tell from the title, I've had Psycho Mantis's voice running through my head all week. Maybe I should get that checked out? Anyways, this video is mostly going to be aimed at getting the word out on this INCREDIBLE port, so the writing is a bit different from a normal video. Derek and I wrote out about a third of the draft, but then decided it would be better to cut the boring parts out of our footage and write voice over for that. Derek has already been recording since I’ve been away, so it’s possible we’ll have this edited up by sometime next week? Let’s say two weeks for safety! But I am feeling optimistic about getting it done relatively fast.

In terms of other projects, I’ve started sorting footage for Faceball. There’s a lot to go through, and sync up, I already have a ton of ideas on how I could make a project like this more organized in the future. Barring something happening, I’m hoping to make it my primary focus for next week.

Welp, my plane is boarding now, so that’s it for me this week. We *SHOULD* be recording the podcast this Monday, but I’ll let you guys know if anything changes. We’re expecting repair people to come fix up our bedroom next week, so we’ll see.

As always, thanks for reading and thank you so much for your support!!

My vote is for Instagram as that is the only social network (outside of Linkedin) that I still use.

I knew that about twitter, But didn´t about Mastodon (I just had the bad memories of having to join FB to see posts there) In that case, Mastodon is a good alternative.

You can see public posts on Mastodon without logging in, same as Twitter.

I’d agree with people here. Anything with a registration wall is just not good. One of the reasons why Facebook worked for a lot of people is that it was a given that people had an account. Now I’m not saying to use Facebook, only to demonstrate how it’s important for people to view information with little resistance. So I don’t know what could replace Twitter. It’s kinda unique, truth be told.

Wait, wait, wait, there’s a Castlevania for the Game.com?!?! Well that just blew my mind. They put anything on that abomination of a handheld.

I agree with Ruy/Flint! Some people don't want to register, but still see the post.

People are asking for Mastodon, but I feel the best would be for social media where people can see the posts even if they are not joined/logged in. That was good about Twitter, I don´t know which one would be the best, Maybe just make them public Patreon posts, something that works like a blog that's not hidden behind subscriptions and logins.

I moved over to Mastodon last week and have also been finding it a good alternative to Twitter. While it doesn't have "the algorithm", I almost feel like the ability to just follow a hashtag has helped me discover people in a more natural way than I ever did on Twitter.

Please jump over to one of the mastodon servers! They mostly have different sorts of ideals but you should be able to follow or be followed by people on any other server too. I'm on mastodon.lol because it's LGBTQ+ friendly, but you could probably find one you fit in with as well.
