Vote on the next Past Mortem!

So we were toying on two deas for long form documentaries over the next couple of months, but we're a little behind schedule! We plan on making both of these videos eventually, but we want y'all to pick the one we do next.
The first option is a much needed update of this video (Kojima vs Konami Explained) and would go over how Konami's been doing since firing Kojima, the petty stuff they've continued to do to Kojima, and also the development lead-up to Death Stranding. I think it would be similar to this video in form (How Mega Man 11 Rose from the Ashes of Mighty No 9).
The second option is a little bit easier to explain. We're really interested in the stories of retro revivals/comebacks on Kickstarter, and we're itching to cover Shenmue 3. Shenmue 3 is probably (I need to double check) the largest console-based Kickstarter revival, and marks the end of an era for video games, the retro gaming community, and Kickstarter. It also intersects with the future of the games industry, what with all the Epic Game Store controversy. I think the video would be similar to this video in form (Bloodstained Kickstarter Breakdown).
I think we're still going to make both videos no matter what, this is just for you guys to pick the one we prioritize. Thanks everyone! And feel free to let us know what you picked and why, or even to tell us that both of these topics suck and we should cover something else instead!
Thanks,
Grace

Both sound great, but the Konami/Kojima one will be more timely.

2019-10-02 02:53:45 +0000 UTCI agree with the Derek's comment. I think it'd be great to have a segment dedicated to things revolving around the game post-release! The details of the Kickstarter and development don't feel nearly as insane as Mighty No. 9's wild crowdfunding campaign. Love these Post Mortems! :)

2019-10-02 00:03:14 +0000 UTCI would argue that covering Shenmue 3's kickstarter/history and current hype is worth documenting before the product comes out. Its been fascinating to go back and watch your mighty no 9 videos (and the many others) from before the game launched and comparing those to the reception afterwards. Its a juicy time capsule of game creation/reception/hype that helps guide future game designers in addition to being entertaining. Maybe its just me but i can't be the only one to love watching old hype videos for a disappointing product. Its like watching old basketball vids of the Kwame Brown draft.

2019-10-02 00:02:14 +0000 UTCI have a vested interest in the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter video ;) but I also think that doing past mortems on Kickstarters that haven't even released their product feels a little premature. As someone who has done a lot of research into the Shenmue 3 situation, I feel like a lot of it will depend on the final product, moreso than Mighty No. 9, whose kickstarter was interesting enough in its own right
