First off, welcome new supporters! A couple new faces around here and we can't thank you enough for the support!
All the way back in November last year, we hooked up with a local friend and shot a review & discussion video for The Evil Within 1 & 2. Two and a half hours of footage was shot on three cameras and recorded on two mics, it was a new style of video for the channel. It was a challenging shoot but the actual edit pushed me further outside of my comfort zone than I had anticipated. But three months later, it's finally finished! We had (foolishly) originally planned on it being one video but we quickly realized it would just be too long. And when we realized it needed to be split into two videos, it didn't feel right to charge our supporters twice.
So if you're new to the Patreon for December and January, this one's on the house because it's already been paid for! But also, if you're a new supporter in December or January, your name will not be in the credits. Don't worry, you'll be there next time! We got you!
Also, we'll be making this one public at Noon later today. Usually we have longer exclusivity time, but I wanna get this project out the door. All the videos from here on out will be exclusive for our supporters for a much longer time period. Bit of a weird first impression for some of you, I know haha.
Finally, if you haven't played The Evil Within 2, holy crap get on that! It's so good! 2017 was just such a crazy year that it got lost in the shuffle of all the amazing games that came out but do not sleep on this game. Don't even bother with TEW 1, just jump into the second one! I've beaten it 3 times and editing this video made me want to play it a 4th freaking time!

Personally, I felt Evil Within 2 lacked the tone of the original. It went for a totally different look and feel, and I felt it lost a lot because of that. It also felt like the first and second half were two separate games that were put together during development. It almost felt like they saw complaints from the first game and decided to make a much different experience to appeal to those people, but in the process lost the uniqueness of the original game that could alienate original fans. TEW was my GOTY when it came out. Despite its flaws, I was totally engrossed in it, and it scratched that third person survival horror itch. TEW 2 was a big disappointment to me, to the point I felt it could've just been its own new IP. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I hesitate to say people should just avoid TEW 1. It's like saying 'Don't read Clive Barker books. Just read Joe Hill ones'. You never know what will appeal to people's tastes!
