Hey Champs!
One last 2017 video for ya! We teased this video on our Halloween video and here it is, a deep dive into what may be the greatest area in all of horror video games, the Silent Hill Historical Society.
It's a long one, over an hour, so give it a few minutes to finish rendering.
Thanks for helping make 2017 the best year in the history of the channel and another radical year on Patreon. We've got big plans for 2018 and we'll share them soon!

Happy New Year

Getting super nerdy indeed. Really liked this in-depth look at this section. It's something you usually don't see as a video. Thanks!

I hadn't really thought about this video as a way for non-horror fans to experience Silent Hill 2. I wonder if this could be a new video series, haha. And that's no disrespect to people that can't handle horror games, it even took me about a year to slowly work my way through Silent Hill 1. I've never heard of Penumbra Overture, it looks pretty cool, thanks for sharing! -d

Had to use "The Scream". And I can't blame Grace for it, it's an incredibly well-executed gag! -d

Glad to help! If you're not playing Silent Hill games (or really, horror games in general) with headphone or a healthy speaker/subwoofer set-up, I'd argue you're barely even playing them! -d

I will admit, I have never played any Silent Hill game, and to be very fair, I do not anticipate to get a PS2 or any device capable of playing the game any time soon, so I decided to dive into it regardless of spoilers.
I feel like I have learned some great things about what makes a legitimate psychological horror experience, the way the hallways are designed before the labyrinth section are all about the manipulation of the player, pulling the strings to those who dared to go deeper.
I think I must also mention I am a super coward when it's about horror games, I have barely touched Penumbra Overture for example.
Thank you for this great video I literally watched past 2AM through.
