Derek here to give you all a quick update on video production. We've got two videos on the docket.
First will be a follow-up of sorts to our Yooka-Laylee review, A Brief History of the Collect-A-Thon. The premise that Yooka-Laylee attempted to revive the Collect-A-Thon genre but it never went away, and by tracking its evolution from Mario 64 to Banjo to Yooka, we will show how it just got swallowed up by open world sandbox games and eventually incorporated into most single player campaigns. It will be "Brief" because we wont be able to talk about every game involved in the timeline. Think of it as a long-form punching weight, the video itself will be on the long side, but discussion of each game will be rather brief.
Speaking of Punching Weight, it's coming back! The next episode will be RTS Games on Consoles. Starcraft 64, Command and Conquer 64, and Goblin Commander (PS2), plus another shout out to Warlocked. This is an episode I've wanted to do for a while, specifically for Starcraft 64. You'd think playing Starcraft on an N64 controller would be impossible, but they actually pulled it off quite spectacularly! I did some digging and found out there are actually quite a few RTS on the DS and another on the GBA so that could make for another episode down the line.
Also if you weren't aware, SSFF has been down on member for about a month now. Grace is in the final weeks for school right now and has been unable to help out with video production and other day-to-day stuff. Which means it's all fallen on to me which has been quite a struggle. We're both about ready for a vacation, which we will be having in sorts next month with some traveling and conventions. We'll have a big update for you in a few weeks!
Ok back to work for me! Enjoy your weekend! And thanks for the support!
