2015-08-15 04:54:37 +0000 UTCWould you consider doing any of the Kid Dracula games Derek? since you brought up the subject of October/Halloween reviews? they're not scary but the theme is still there.
2015-08-06 09:18:05 +0000 UTCWhy not Decap Attack?

2015-08-06 05:56:23 +0000 UTCi don't have a ps4 of my own so that would make it tricky. but here are my quick thoughts; demon's souls and dark souls were the proof of concept and refinement of that gameplay style but bloodborne was the first iteration. no shields, faster combat, less emphasis on loot and character builds, a more dense and lived-in world. it was familiar but fresh. plus it's a full-on horror game so i was way into it.

2015-08-04 19:30:25 +0000 UTCPersonally I'd really like your opinion on Bloodborne TBH, but thats not on the list so... I always loved your Splatterhouse stuff, and your review of the japan-only Sweet Home was also one of your best, so I would say Wanpaku Graffiti would be my choice!

2015-08-04 16:17:49 +0000 UTCspoilers, i sold my copy of eternal darkness when i was thinning out my collection for the big move. so, nnnnnnnope!

2015-08-04 04:52:19 +0000 UTCthat was a little less sarcastic than you might think, i really do need to play it more. clock tower 3 is kinda dumb and maybe i think in a way i can really appreciate.

2015-08-04 04:51:07 +0000 UTCAfter your "I dunno" on Clock Tower 3 during the Clock Tower review I'm curious to see you talk about that one :)
2015-08-04 04:36:36 +0000 UTCsome of those 'maybes' are dope. Random, but out of the trilogy of dead space games I only beat the third. Bought the first and played about half. A million times better than 3. you could do eternal darkness for a rerevisit? lol

2015-08-03 23:50:20 +0000 UTCdead space 1 is incredible and i totally agree on it being a surrogate sequel to re4. i was also severely let down by dead space 2 (ds 3 was fine but i never finished it). i've got a lot to say about dead space 1! plus it came out in 2008! it's almost 10 years old!

2015-08-03 22:46:17 +0000 UTCi guess i see the fatal frame games as being too well-known. plus i've somehow never played through one despite owning all 5 released over here. i really want to play the echo night games more! i scooped up beyond last year for pretty cheap and the 1st one just dropped on psn.

2015-08-03 22:44:35 +0000 UTCthe NES addams family game is easily one of my most hated games. that was the one game that haunted my childhood. i remember being a little upset avgn didn't talk about it in his fester quest video. but trust me, i know that game very very well and it's pure garbage
Stop Skeletons From Fighting
2015-08-03 22:39:45 +0000 UTChahaha, wow i'm shocked anyone remembers that! that ended being a complete disaster because my dvd burner died right in the thick of it. i had a replacement player but i lost the remote and i couldn't finalize disks without the remote. literally had no way to capture game footage! and they didn't sell them in stores anymore, only on expensive specialty websites. i ended up finding a website that sold just remotes, the express shipping was not cheap i remember. fuck, i'm feeling stressed just thinking about it. got myself a damn capture card and never looked back!

2015-08-03 22:33:40 +0000 UTCi definitely feel like i'm running out good halloween games! splatterhouse wg, it's the one splatterhouse game left for me to talk review. maybe it's time. i'm all set on dino crisis games (i have the DC version in storage too), i've been planning a retrospective for years. i think a few years ago i flipped a coin and it came up parasite eve instead. but it'll be a really big project so i've kept putting it off. i just really like the clock tower games and i just recently stumbled on a copy of haunting ground. i need to play them both more to see if they're really that good. re4: playing through portions for the super nerd video inspired re:cert in a way. i realized it aged really well and really poorly at the same time. i have a super rough draft molding away somewhere alien resurrection is surprisingly competent but i'm not sure if it stands on its own or is just impressive for a ps1 game. the symphony video got a lot of people talking about the gba and ds castlevania games. and i really like those games but if were to pull the trigger on production, i'd need to start now. dead space 1: this game is really tragic to me because it feels like the true sequel to re4 we didn't get with re5 and dead space 2 was a huge disappointment for me. i've got a lot to say about it. and it came out in 2008, it's actually pretty old! i've only played extermination for like a hour but it definitely seemed like something worth revisiting.

2015-08-03 22:23:42 +0000 UTCIf you're going to do Addams Family you should consider including the NES version aswell. Why? Well, for one: I rarely see that version getting brought up. Most of the time I hear people talking about the snes one so it's kind of obscure. I played both of them back in the day and if for no other reason whenever you fall it kinda looks like Gomez is flipping you off! lol.

2015-08-03 22:06:27 +0000 UTCDead Space 1 and Echo Night: Beyond would be very cool. Especially Echo Night Beyond. The game looks amazing, but have not played it because it is quite hard to find for a decent price. Dead Space is the Resident Evil 5 we should have gotten, probably one of my favorite games ever. The sound design is incredible.

2015-08-03 22:03:28 +0000 UTCHonestly, I'm really surprised not to see Fatal Frame in this list. In terms of a horror genre I put it pretty close to the Silent Hill series. And with it coming out on the Wii U I would imagine now is a good time to talk about it. If you are still going for more obscure titles, I would imagine Echo Night and Echo Night Beyond would be a good episode. The game did a lot of interesting things being the equivalent of a 3D-First Person Point-and-Click.

2015-08-03 22:02:46 +0000 UTCi was actually thinking the GBA version which has a cool "arranged mode". but i've always loved that game, it fixes the problem is the other g 'n g games being stupid hard. if i can get PSP emulation working, i'd like to look at ultimate g 'n g. a friend of mine bought it for me as a gift before i moved so i own it but i've not had the change to play it and all my psp stuff in storage. wanpaku graffiti, i was against reviewing it because felt i was finished with splatterhouse games and after the late jew wario tackled it, i figured it had been well-represented. but i think it's been long enough. i haven't played it in a while but you might be right, there isn't a whole lot to it. but my splatterhouse videos are some of my most popular so it would be cathartic to to back one last time.

2015-08-03 21:56:03 +0000 UTCoh this warms my heart! i've been using that skull just for my own amusement, i wasn't sure if anyone else noticed! but it's in storage ... and shipping it down might be tricky because the wax is so brittle. we'll see!!
Stop Skeletons From Fighting
2015-08-03 21:50:31 +0000 UTCi've wanted to do dino crisis for a while now but haven't put in the time to play them to completion. i'd also have to procure an original xbox (they're all over seattle goodwills) for dino crisis 3. if i wanted to move forward on those i'd have to start now. and all the others you mentioned i just need to spend more time with, except for Cursed Mountain which i've had but never played.
Stop Skeletons From Fighting
2015-08-03 21:48:06 +0000 UTCi know, i might like a Swery game, i'm just as shocked as you! i picked it up for really cheap a few years ago and it seemed pretty cool. need to spend more time with it tho
Stop Skeletons From Fighting
2015-08-03 21:37:41 +0000 UTCi think that's the one dreamcast horror game i don't own! and i've always heard it's terrible, so naturally i need to scoop it up one of these days

2015-08-03 21:35:21 +0000 UTCMaybe some more "Halloween in May" would get through this list quicker. =P

2015-08-03 21:03:48 +0000 UTCSplatterhouse Wanpaku Grafitti I feel like you've done enough to spread the word about Splatterhouse, and while this one is a quirky obscurity, I personally would like to see something fresher. Dino Crisis (1,2,3, Dino Hunter?) I've got the original for both PlayStation and Dreamcast collecting dust, would love some motivation to dive in. Clock Tower 3 I feel like between you, Jontron, and one or two others, Clocktower has been done enough. Resident Evil 4 (Re:Cert) Again, after your "Gettin' Super Nerdy: Resident Evil 4 Preview Disk" video, I think something fresh is in order. Alien Resurrection I recall this having a storied development history, and I recall it having a lot of interesting atmospherics. It might be interesting to explore as a precursor to some other things, like Dead Space. Castlevania GBA Trilogy Castlevania DS Trilogy I've been getting seriously into Castlevania recently, and would love to see more, but perhaps something different is in order. Dead Space 1 Great game, played it several times, but I think it's too popular for your review style, and not old enough for a Re:Cert. Extermination (PS2) Here's a game that might be perfect for you. I remember it doing some interesting things, but did not get far enough with it to see if it went anywhere, would love to see your take on it.

2015-08-03 21:02:10 +0000 UTCDefinitely Super Ghouls and Ghosts at some point. I'd love to see your take on the series as a whole though, considering your stance on really hard games. Maybe Wanpaku Graffiti as a short bonus, too. It probably doesn't need much coverage (because it's already well spoken for), but it'd put a good little bow on the top of your previous Splatterhouse reviews.

2015-08-03 20:09:44 +0000 UTCEnthusiastic to see Dino Crisis, Clock Tower 3, and Haunting Ground! Definitely would be up for Echo Night, Cursed Mountain, and Galerians as well.
