Arc VI Teaser

Arc VI: Trade will start release on October 14th. As mentioned before, it has 11 chapter and approximately 96k words. That makes it 6k longer than the previous record holder, Arc I: Academy.

The basic contents of Trade was hinted at toward the end of Arc V: Gamers, so it unsurprisingly involves selling brooms in Tartarus. But this time Sylvia isn't heading out alone. She'll will bring along several others, along with Belkis. You'll also see a different pair of returning characters.

As this is a larger arc, you can safely assume that not everything goes to plan. In fact, during the second half of the arc Sylvia finds herself 'invited' to a gala she'd really rather not attend. Hence the dress. Unlike Gamers, Trade is action packed taking place over 2 to 3 months instead of 3.5 years.

BTW, this was the original image:

I'm still not 100% sure which of the two I like better.

Speaking of images, I have around 6 tentatively planned for the next arc. Unfortunately, I haven't premade any of them yet, so I'll be busy with the image AI later. Sometimes it comes easy. Sometimes it's a pain.

Royal Road Ads

During the last arc, Migration, I ran an ad on RR. The results were pretty tepid.

A quick break down of these statistics:

Thus, while my CTR was average, my conversion was relatively low. That said, I'm pretty sure RR is low balling follow conversions (which is the right thing to do!).

Despite this, I'll give it another try. I think, the problem was that my ad caught the wrong audience group. So I'll try something simpler like this.

Or this variant. I do like this variant but the other authors on discord said it was hard to read to it was better to keep it simple.

Information Posts

I like to add informational posts in slack period between story arcs. Recently I finished dumping my grimoire. I'm curious, is there anything in particular you guys would like to see?

Comments

Being too overt, I worry, would be an invitation for AnGrY PeOpLe who very much don't the idea of certain kinds of stories existing. But, yes, it'd likely have a better conversion rate. I think the second set of lines in what I posed above would nicely attract the right group. But both are probably fine. That is an interesting idea, though. I could splice the Eric image with a Sylvia image. Possible lines: - "It's one thing to play a witch; It's another thing to be one." - "When Isekais go wrong." - "Learn magic they said..." - "Become a mage!;*Terms and conditions apply"

Do you think it is risky to hint at the gender bender angle at least more so? I think you may see a higher conversion rate. Maybe something about being excited to be a powerful mage with a picture of heavy guy on one half, but end up a witch instead and show the bottom half with the witch. But perhaps wittier.

The minimum time period between transmigrations is 20 years. The typical period is 100 years. This is because the first 10 to 20 years is spent cultivating and the next several decades are spent enjoying life, making money, and preparing for future cultivation. So, its quite unusual to transmigrate the moment it's possible. Now, asteri gain 'physical age appearance' as the years pass moving from the late teens to mid twenties. This does reset on transmigration and doesn't get faster. Most would, thus, consider Asteri among the bloodlines who are 'mature on birth', though they do have some aging characteristics. By contrast, Belkis started in her tweens after transmigration and gains 1 year of physical maturity per year until she's in her mid twenties. At which point she'd hard stop. Then there are the classic celestials, Ouranious Nefritos Anthros, who start at 10 years old after transmigration and gain 1 year of age per every 2 years eventually reaching the appearance of someone in their 60s before stopping. All of this can be influenced by Awakening and Transcendence, BTW. Some will have 'always mature bodies' after this point. Others might gain wider age ranges. It's typical for celestials, post Awakening, to become 'immortal and ageless' for instance. Sprites (like Kyna) *only* gain meaningful maturity via the grand mutations, with transcendent sprites looking like fully mature ladies and unawakened sprites always appearing more akin to boys or girls in their mid-teens. Basically, aging behavior is completely bloodline dependent with additional wildcards brought by mutation deviance. Transmigration resets aging, if a bloodline has. Now, there are ki arts which can accelerate this process (or slow it!) for those who hate their bloodline's nature. And for magic users, there's transformative tools like a visage.

I think the first picture is better; the angle is just more eye-catching. Also, I've been wondering what would happen when the starlight witches transmigrate like Esmeralda? Iirr, it takes about a century for them to mature, but does that only apply for newborns before the first transmigration or even to Esmeralda after she merged with Emily? I assumed the time it would take to reach maturity would be halved because it's strange that as soon as they reach maturity, they'd consider transmigration.
