Esmeralda's Fashion and Lucifer
Added 2025-03-18 21:49:38 +0000 UTCRecently, when updating Chapter 17, one of my beta's dragged me in to discuss fashion. Specifically, they wanted to talk about Esmeralda's dress, pointing out that my description wasn't that good. Which isn't too surprising, because my fashion sense is non-existent. Thus, I did consulted higher powers (namely dress pictures on the internet and the AI).
Behold the Result!
This is what Esmeralda wore during Vilhelm Codrin's speech right before the start of the minors tournament kicked off. The only problem is that the AI, uh, forgot the neckline. If my Gimp skills were better I'd fix that.
By the way, the edited text in Chapter 17 now reads:
The dean’s dress was spectacular. A chiffon stole floated magically over the baroness’s shoulders, the bodice beneath white with gold-embroidery, yet far more modest than what Sylvia was wearing. Beneath was a full overskirt in pure, emerald green, with a beautiful underskirt in the same white and gold as the bodice. Overall, the style lent Esmeralda the air of a pure princess.
Now. I also got a request for a Lucifer picture.
This is my favorite of those I created.
But this isn't bad either. Too bad neither properly captured Lucifer's smirk. I'm curious which of these you prefer.
And, no, the dress and Lucifer have nothing to do with each other. Though, you can imagine otherwise if you wish

It's hard to decide which Lucifer would look better in the dress, thus I withhold my vote.

So, it'd be a side by side compare, as you might see in any visual diffing tool (red for subtraction, green for addition). Neither image really captured that. So, I'd consider both pictures okayish for authenticity with the second being slightly better because it has three monitors (as described in the scene) instead of five.
