Stuck... sorry... my timing sucks more than ever.

I guess I'm seeing myself as Elmo being forced to jump off Scarlett's boat. I did my best, worked all week, but failed to finish on time again. This is what happened:

1. Despite I could finish Hippolyta's scenes on time, I found out that the game lacked a spicy ingredient:

SCOLDINGS.

I thought it would work fine without them, as it was in the original design... but after running it and getting a couple of spankings, the lack of scoldings made it feel kinda empty. Then I believed it would be enough to add scoldings only to the main two chars, the Baywatchers Erika and Alexandra.. but then the other ladies demanded scoldings as well.

So, I got stuck on the process of writing and adding scolding audios for the 7 spankers, just as making images with them talking with an angry face. And then, it derived in adding voice audios to the full game. Fortunately, it's not something as laborious as Mommy Nadya's, who had too many lines.

The final result improves it by far. Especially now that the AI voice generator I got (ImyFone) has gone wild in the last months. They added several new ultra realistic voices, AI generated, that can be very, very expressive. No more the robotic text to speech voices from some years ago. This has taken a couple of extra days where I was supposed to be polishing the final details and the music.

Don't be desperate, as these delays are for the major good in order that you get the best work I can make. Remember, I'm the most eager to publish this game as I have confidence it can improve my damaged income from the pirated Brave Knight. My other plans, like a dozen videos that will launch my Loyalfans page (will also be part of the content here), or like Mrs. Rachel bikini and birthday suit versions, everything is paused because these ladies have taken far more time than expected!!

How many more days? Don't want to say again and fail again, but it's something I can't avoid. This is the plan with the many times inaccurate and sometimes approximate timeline that runs in my head:

1. Finish the audios and add them to the game. (half a day)

2. Making half of the music (half a day)

3. Char by char, finish details and bridges, polish scene, make a full review of the game, make extra images if necessary. This is the most difficult to predict as it can take from a single to some days.

4. GRAND FINALE (half a day)

5. Image corrections. While I work on 1-4 in my lap, my desktop does the renderings.

6. Upload process and extra security measures, like individual passwords. Have never done such a thing, so don't know how much it will take.

Optimistic release date: Monday.

Realistic release date: Tuesday-Wednesday.

Pessimistic release date: Thursday-Friday

Apocalyptic release date: Saturday and beyond.

I have a lot of images I'd like to share, but I prefer to make it a surprise when you play the game.

Here's a little preview from Hippolyta. Probably the best images and sequences I've ever made.

I guess I love her... :)

May all you dream with Hippolyta Tushlasher....

All good just do you I will support no matter what. And even if you did what I accused you of I would understand since your game got pirated.

Jerry

Delaying the release COSTS him money, douchebag!

darthbrat

EVERY game hits unexpected snags or needs late adjustments. It's a critical phase in the process. Completely unpredictable and not always instantly solvable, yet necessary for a game not to suck. It can't be rushed. Games are not videos. There is no set schedule. A little patience is all that's necessary. It's worth it in the end!

darthbrat

My thoughts exactly! You don't particularly need this crap from insulting douchebags! I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize for my own prior douchebag phase!

darthbrat

I agree that I shouldn't post if I'm not confident, and that's a big mistake and a flaw from me. Now, you accusing me of waiting a month is the MOST UNFAIR AND UNBIASED thing. If you don't believe that I'm working 8-10 hours a day, 7 days a week, then sorry, i don't know what to say. I could be like other devs, post a mid game, incomplete, with a lot bugs, and then force all patrons to stay several months, or even years so that they get the complete game. I could have only worked in Spankytown College for 5 years, add a small scene every month, a new girl every 6 months, a new playable char after a year, work relaxed, and make patrons spend $60-600 (tiers $1-10 where the benefit is getting an earlier release, the right to send me a message, propose content and get preview images of new content) If would be single game, the same as the Brave Knight, but made in 5 years instead of 5 months. If you had read my previous posts, I LOST 30% income because of the pirated game. My profit always goes up with a new release, that's the stats, and my hopes to recover are all in this game. People always unsub after a new release, but the returning and new patrons are always more. So I'm the one losing more with the delays. Anyway, think bad of me if you want. I can't do anything about it.

HecMX

I have hope it releases in the next 24 hours. I am a bit anxious since this is the game I’ve looked forward to the most. But I respect you for holding it past its release date, to ensure we get the best possible product. Take the time you need 👏

thechamp7051

How about doing both? Like setting a deadline and also making the games great? If you're not confident about making the deadline how about you not post it? Or did you just want to wait for a month so that you get the money and not risk people unsubbing after they get the game?

Jerry

Yes, @darthbrat's comparisons with other games is absolutely correct! Just compare OTK Production's output to other adult game developers on Patreon. It's phenomenal! And, as has been stated before, just TRY to find other F/M spanking game developers out there. Femdom...yes. A few. But purely 100% spanking?!? Nope. None.

Ken L. Black

You're totally right.

HecMX

My only advice would be to not post a release date until you are absolutely sure. Remember that this should be fun vs stressful.

Jason Voorhees

Improving the game is not failure. It's part of the process. And truthfully, IMPOSSIBLE to accurately quantify!

darthbrat

Which is why Hippolyta's making you walk the plank!

darthbrat

I know... and the more I try not to do it again, I do it again.

HecMX

Your only mistake is setting superhuman goals for yourself. For proof, see the first post, "I'm Gonna Make the Spankingverse!" I think that was the original plan for last YEAR! That's just you being you. It's what makes you so good at this shit! You've only made what 14-something games over the last 3-4 years. You're doing fine! Most designers take that long or longer to finish ONE, if they ever do!

darthbrat

Oh. Hope you're doing better and have a quick full recovery. I have also some problems in my back because of a small genetic malformity. It helps me that at least 3 times a day, I walk long distances and do some jogging (running at a speed where teens go faster that me if they just speed up their walking)

HecMX

Gonna ask you the same. Would you prefer that I stick to the initial plan, haste the game and deliver a mediocre product because of it? That would be far, far more disappointing than delays. I've been working 8-10 hours a day 7 days a week, so that's the best I can do. If BIG companies most of the time delay game releases, it's expected that a single dev like me would do.

HecMX

Sorry but no. I'm not gonna stick to a deadline haste the game and release no matter it's current state. Tell me honestly, would you prefer that I always deliver a game on time with bugs, partially made, and that is with average-mediocre quality only because I had to stick with a deadline? Or would you prefer a top quality game (the best I can make)? Making hasted not well done games would be sad, and that would throw down the business. Please just take into consideration I'm a single guy working 8-10 hours a day in these games, 7 days a week, and that's the best I can do.

HecMX

Crap happens! It's a process. It's not like you're sitting around, putting off working on it. You're improving the game where it needs work. The only way you can keep to firm deadlines is to finish the game and hold it until a scheduled release date months later. Targets are want to, hope to, but the game decides when it's done. Cut yourself some slack! It's done when it's done.

darthbrat

It's really disappointing that the agreed plan cannot be realized, and this has happened many times

emgs

No worries about things so far as I'm concerned. I've been out of the loop with some carpal tunnel surgery. (Something you, sir, may well be concerned about in the future, given your time on the computer!!) I'm sympathetic to the delays because you're exactly like me: never happy with a product. I've re-rendered entire scenes multiple times because I spot a little something I'm not happy with that I didn't catch before. Things always pop up, and then "real life" gets in the way too many times.

Ken L. Black

you should really work on making the deadlines you set the fact that this always happens is not surprising and it's sad

Jerry
