An update: making stuff & finding cats (literally)

First, I wanna apologize for the radio silence. It's been an insanely busy month, which became suddenly even more busy/delayed because I FOUND A CAT a couple weeks ago πŸ˜…

If you haven't seen my stories on Instagram, I suddenly found a stray orange cat outside of our apartment. The little man was walking around in our courtyard crying, and when I called him over, I saw that he was really skinny with some wounds on his face, really dirty and absolutely covered in ticks.

I didn't know what to do at the time, except that I couldn't let him keep wandering outside in his current state. So I took him up into our apartment to check if he was someone's lost pet. With help from our local cat rescue, we concluded that he was a stray with no home (no microchip, no id and no one looking for him).

It's been a couple weeks now, and he's been quickly getting his health back :D We removed 15+ ticks on him 🀒, took him to the vet for a check and also got him neutered (sponsored by our local rescue!). We set him up on our enclosed balcony and decided to call him Lax, which is Swedish for Salmon 🐟

And I know what you're thinking now, which is - are we going to keep him?!

I flip flopped on this daily, or even almost every hour, of whether or not we should keep him. While Haddock (my tabby cat) loves everyone, Shrimp (my tuxedo) is extremely sensitive and doesn't really like other cats, or even other people.

We have been slowly working on getting them used to Lax being around, who has been separated on the balcony. And while we have made progress and I'm really proud of Shrimp tolerating a stranger in her home, I know that she is really stressed out. I'll admit, I was really hoping they'd all just fall in love and be best friends, but of course that isn't how it's going :p

You can see Shrimp in the background scowling at me.

So despite how much I adore him, we are considering Lax just a foster for now <3

Caring for this lil guy on top of convention prep has been really overwhelming these past few weeks. Stockholm Comic Coin is already next weekend, followed by Dokomi right after. And this past week, I've been getting about 5-7 huge packages per day, which is both exciting but also stressful as my studio gets smaller and more disorganized the closer we get to these events.

I also realized that this is the last week I can really make any new ceramics, so I've also been scrambling to paint cats and make mugs. My plan was to do them last week, but Lax became my priority, so I had to switch to working on other stuff from home.

I am aware that I said I would do a mini ceramics restock online, but at this moment I'm not really sure since I have very few ceramics to bring with me to these events. So I have to sincerely apologize ahead of time in the case it doesn't happen.

The bags and caps have arrived in the past few days, and I would like to put a limited number of them onto the shop before I bring everything to these upcoming cons. My shop will remain open while I'm away, but what's online will be extremely limited since I'm bringing most of my stock with me.

Anyway, thank you for being here and I apologize again for the lack of updates this month πŸ₯² I hope you have a good weekend!

I always find orange cats to be the sweetest. 😊 I'm glad you found him and cleaned him up.

Thank you for helping Lax! I really hope you're able to keep him and I hope that things go well at the convention for you.
