Designing for 2024
Added 2023-12-18 09:00:03 +0000 UTCPoll at end: What products would you like to see for 2024?
------
It's not even Christmas yet, but I'm already thinking about what I'm going to do for spring! With all the delays I experienced this season, I'm trying to start on things as early as possible. And I already feel late when it comes to making spring stuff.
The more complex the items are, the longer the turnaround time. And one of the goals I have for 2024 is to start making more unique things... so that means starting 6 months or even a year ahead! (Should I instead be making xmas stuff now for next year?)
One thing that has been on my mind for many years has been to make my own plushies. I've done collaborations with makeship, but I think this might be the year I finally try to make one on my own.
The main characters I was thinking of were possibly the guinea bee or bumble pig - but I'm also worried they are too niche.

When making these more unique products, I have to order significantly more items (like into the hundreds instead of doing like 20). So I also have to make the designs appealing enough that a larger audience will enjoy them, or else I end up with lots of extra inventory.
Should I instead do a chicken? Or a kitty? Cats always seem very popular... but I do love guinea pigs.
These are just some of the things I have to consider when working on new products and it's definitely a growing phase I'm trying to figure out.

2023-12-25 14:35:15 +0000 UTCI just got my mugs and I already have a lot of flawed products - oof. At least nothing is broken. I'll have to look into how I can do this best... do you happen to remember which creators made tumblers? Maybe I can ask them for tips

2023-12-20 11:31:18 +0000 UTCCouple of the creators I follow did glass tumbler or mugs/cups ended up with large amount of flawed products. Also they mentioned shipping/damage during transit was also an issue with glassware.
