I believe the latest version of the camerabackgroundcolor plugin has an option for easily removing pretty much all objects apart from the persons and ui buttons. However u can do it manually by going through the atoms select menu and removing or hiding all the objects in the scene. Also go into scene lighting and turn off the skybox if there is 1.

I use the scenes in vr and and in the old scenes the button doesn't work there. :- / I can work around it with other tools but the newer scenes are much more convenient with the working button.
