My Robatsu: Episode 2, Part 2

Robatsu: I’ve detected Maki’s presence inside the Bizney store. I would like to check in on him, if that is okay with you. ➤

Chawan: Huh, Maki’s in there? That’s weird... You know what? I’ll come along with you. ➤

Chawan looks over to Tako, who has his complete attention buried in the new volumes of Girl with a Spiral on Her Face. He’s completely immersed flipping through the pages, staring at the illustrations and reading to find out what happens next!

Chawan: Hey Tako, Robatsu and I are going to look in the Bizney store. Are you going to be alright here? ➤

Tako: … … … ➤

Chawan: Yeah, he’ll be fine. We’ll be back before he even notices we’re gone! ➤

I take Chawan’s word for it and we head towards the Bizney store, which sits a few stores diagonally across from the Japanese book store. As we take our first step inside, enchanting orchestrated music plays from the speakers overhead. Bright lights shine from above, illuminating the entire store, reflecting off the golden trimmings running along the walls, and sparkling off the violet, glittery floors. The store goes pretty deep with rows of shelves lined with toys, plushies and lots of apparel with cartoon characters featured on them saying cute quotes from their respective movies.

As we make our way towards the center of the store looking around for Maki, we’re approached by a female employee with a name tag that reads Holly.

Holly: Excuse me sir, but filming is not allowed in the store. ➤

Chawan: Huh? We’re not filming anything. ➤

Robatsu: She must be referring to my passive visual recording function. It is an encrypted feature of a Robatsu to automatically record our visuals so that I can refer to it later. Think of it like memories. ➤

Holly: Yeah, that. Sorry, it’s just our store policy, and it covers recording devices built inside robots. ➤

Robatsu: I understand, and I shall leave promptly. ➤

Chawan: Wait, no. We’re just here looking for a friend and we’ll leave. How about this? I'll wrap my sweater around his eyes so he can’t record anything. ➤

Before Holly or I have a chance to speak, Chawan immediately proceeds to strip off his sweater.

Holly: W-wait- what?... uhh… ➤

Holly freezes in awe. Her tired expression changes into something perverse as she stares, while Chawan completely removes his sweater, revealing his chiseled muscles and a pair of pink, tender nipples. My core temperature increases as I’m exposed to this glorious sight. My programming tells me that I must caress his abs…

Maki: WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN HERE?!  ➤

I turn around to see Maki peering from behind a shelf filled with plushes of Ricky Rat and various other characters from the same franchise. Maki seems mortified at the sight of us, and especially of Chawan.

Maki: PUT YOUR FUCKING CLOTHES BACK ON! ➤

Holly: Hey Maki, do you know these people? Do you know him…? Please tell me you know him! ➤

Maki: NOT ANYMORE! GET THE FUCK OUT, CHAWAN. YOU’RE EMBARRASSING ME. ➤

Chawan: Now, now, don’t be upset. Robatsu just wanted to check in on you! What are you doing here anyway? This doesn’t seem like the kind of store you’d be shopping in. ➤

Maki: N-none of your fucking business, dude. I’m just here to say hi to a friend. Looks like you’ve already met Holly. ➤

Holly: Yo! Maki and I were co-workers from our last job. Areyousingle? ➤

Chawan: No, I’m here with my friends! ➤

Holly: (I-Is he avoiding the question…?) ➤

Maki: Did you guys come to get me? I thought you said we had 15 minutes! ➤

Holly: Oh right, before you go, Maki. I checked our inventory; looks like we do have those plushies- ➤

Maki: SH-SHUSH! ➤

Chawan: Oh, what’s this? I didn’t know you had such interests! ➤

Maki: I-IT’S NOT FOR ME, OKAY?! I’m… getting it for my sister. I-it’s her 11th birthday. I’m just doing big brotherly things! ➤

Holly: Aaww, that’s so sweet! Well, buy something already, so you can get out of my hair. ➤

Maki: Wow, tired of me already? I’ve only been here for like 2 minutes. ➤

Chawan: I didn't know you had a sister! How come you've never told us? What are you going to get for her?  ➤ 

Maki: I dunno, I’m not good with these things. Also, pleaseputyourfuckingshirtbackon. ➤

Maki: Oh I know! Hey Robatsu, you pick! Use your robot magic or whatever, and figure out what you think a little sister would like best. ➤

Maki issued a “Hey Robatsu” command, which means I can temporarily use the internet to search for information relevant to his question. Holly takes out a plushie from behind the counter, revealing a cute stuffed doll of a beautiful princess character, named Eliza, from the recently popular Bizney movie, Burned. She has ginger hair and sports a red cute dress with a flaming orange cape. Maki, on the other hand, holds a Rickey Rat doll, the famous, most easily recognizable mascot of the Bizney family. He's #1 on most lists of top popular cartoon characters and he's very popular with children! I didn't even need the internet to know this. It's just common knowledge!
