Due to time issues and work that i'm trying to wrap up i'm concerned i won't have time to make the additional fixes for a [Release] class build. So here's a [Rough] build for all supporters!
From the last all supporter build here's whats changed
As I mentioned before builds are now classes in [Experimental], [Rough], [Release] and [Public] which each carry their own standards. Rough has some issues that will result in some oddities.
I haven't have time to reexport all the animations, and while that may sound simple it is extremely tedious and time consuming. That dev hell i mentioned before was me having to do that multiple times in another project XD.
So right now, if you click through scenes repeatedly in the same session Naomi's pose may become odd due to bones being animated in some poses but not others. Only fix is resetting the game. There may be other issues too.
Also some poses have strange bending in the shoulders and wrists for this reason as well.
Another change i want to remind you of is build's for Our Apartment will not be labeled with "Versions" but instead be labeled with build/release numbers. This is build 5 and will be labeled with "b5". This is because the end result of the project is less clear compared to The Couch, even though it has similar goals.
Builds are focused on incremental progress rather than having me keep track of when a build should be released to what tier.
Also i decided to upload the build to patreon this time rather than use a dropbox link since dropbox made their links kinda weird now for zip files.
Main needs mostly related to figuring out how i want to handle Cum. I'm considering purchasing a skinned mesh decal solution soon for this, along with a rope physics solution as well. I've had this concept for a while, but Adeptus Steve and his game proved the solution can work.
I'm also going to experiment with dialogue after the animations are complete, I've been doing a lot of research and video watching here to figure out my approach. I think i have a good concept that feasible for me.
I'm also going to need to revamp how cameras work a bit so i can have some nicer transitions instead of them clipping. Along with adding some neat camera features like a POV toggle and such.
Yes and no, MiNT is still in training (almost done though) and EIREXE is also busy with his job and i can't pay him much (he's been awesome). I need them for complex things or stuff i don't have time for. But I've found a solution to help me be more self sufficient overall.
This month i bought Bolt which is a visual scripting solution. And shortly after trying it out for a bit, i managed to solve the issue with physics freaking out on teleport on my own. Getting that done i feel confident using it as i learn stuff. It also lets me edit the nodes in play mode, so experimenting is very efficient. I'm not a programmer, just a computer savvy artist, so stuff like this i can do really well in.
This means i can tackle more things on my own instead of needing to ask a programmer for smaller things and some larger experiments. This may also have benefits for returning to The Couch as well but even with this tool that's still a complex issue.
So I've mostly avoided collaborations cause i wanted to wait until a certain state of completion, but sadly The Couch got held up right around the state i wanted to hit. Our Apartment though has hit this state for the means i wanted.
In short future outfit and avatar customization will feature items first from various Client games or just people I've worked with, and later from some others i just know. So one of the first things is the Overminds eyes and horns from Outbreak games Overwhored. In other cases there will be outfits for Naomi and such. Expect updates about this over time. I've already contacted most of my current and former clients, and have confirmations from some and i'll ask others later once i meet some personal goals.
This also means Naomi may appear in certain other games, I'll do my best to keep her in character and consistent in her presentation.
I'll have some polls very soon so keep an eye out for those. I'm glad i was able to make good progress this month, and the rough builds have helped ease my mind a bit.
