Alpha Release - This Month??

Hey everyone!

Excited to share some more details now that Sexy Quest is starting to ramp up in development.  This month, I'm dedicated my time to getting this game off the ground and running!  

The plan is to release the Alpha build which will contain the Prologue of the game.  It will serve as an introduction to the game, the mechanics, some characters, and of course, some NSFW content!

== Prologue ==

I've had quite a lot of time to start planning the Prologue so I'm happy to start working on it finally.  It will be a short chapter but will be crucial at implementing all/most of the main mechanics of the game.

Things like the battle system, the quest journal, etc.  Simple things for the player but on my end, getting all of these things running can be challenging.  So these are some of the main goals with this update.

And of course, over time, I may always go back and tweak some of these existing things too so nothing in the Alpha build is guaranteed to be identical in the final release!

== Release Date ==

I'm going to try my best to have the Alpha update out this month but I absolutely can NOT make any promises just yet.

The beginning of a game is easily the most challenging update to get done so it's very possible, and very likely that I'll run into hurdles or just misjudge how long the Alpha will take.

Because Sexy Quest is a bit more linear than a game like Town of Passion, I think that this may actually help a lot when it comes to how efficiently I can create an update though so I don't see a late August release as too crazy of a goal (yet).

As things continue to progress, I will keep you all updated!

== Artwork & Timeframes ==

One thing that I'm still trying to figure out will be balancing artwork with releases.  For SQ, the artwork takes a little longer than ToP so I won't be able to cram as many scenes into the game.  

I really don't want Sexy Quest to be a game that takes 3+ years of development.  The goal is to have it finished in two years at the absolute maximum.  

Each update will likely add only one NSFW scene (maybe some sprite scenes too?) so the goal is to make each NSFW scene matter.  Only a handful of characters will probably even have more than 1 scene as well.  

It's definitely weird to break out of my usual routine of giving each character 2/3 progression scenes but I think it'll be a healthy change of pace to prevent myself getting too caught up in the motions.
