Merry Xmas

Hope you all have a great Xmas and holiday season - thanks for supporting Crash in 2020. Been a crazy year - but it is so nice to see so much Crash all over Social Media.

The thinking at the moment is to make Crash bi-monthly with the next issue out mid-Feb. What do you guys think of that?

Perhaps stick with quarterly and save any unused material for the 2 man delivery annual ! :)

Garry Heather

Id love bi monthly but will have to say quarterly. Better quality that way. Not so rushed and more time for better content

Nicholas Hooker

The first issue is great! If you can keep up the content, then I'd be happy with bi-monthly. But if there's any danger of losing quality then stay with quarterly.

Darrel Sinclair

I’d be happy with bi-monthly personally, but do worry about you burning yourself out as others have said...that’s a lot of work! Maybe do a year at quarterly, see how it goes and then consider if you want to go bi-monthly...

Ewen Kirk

Would prefer to stay with quarterly, if went to bi-monthly then too often for what I am looking for as struggle to find the time to invest. Would prefer a larger quarterly magazine at a slightly incremented cost, and this'd save on postage.

Steve Mayne

I'm in two minds. Obviously will be great to have more content, but is a danger that bi-monthly might end up watering down the overall product and end up being overkill. I've a ton of retro stuff that I have yet to catch up on (including huge SNES and NES anthologies, books, and even the Zzap, Crash, Fusion annuals themselves) so fear might end up hitting saturation point. If it was up to me, I'd run both zzap and crash as quarterlies for a year and then ask this question.

Mark Broadbent

Just reading the first ish and it’s great! Happy for either bi-monthly or quarterly. Any chance there could be an article on best ways to play speccy games in 2020- be it OG Spectrum, Next, or the different emulators? Nick Robert’s comments in the Playing Tips section on a particular emulator got me thinking about how this would be interesting/useful.

Bill Tyler

If there’s enough content for bi monthly then by all means go for it

Robert Kirwan

Sorry to be negative but this feels like overkill - too much of a good thing, at a very difficult time economically. The efforts you go to are wonderful, but we signed up for a quarterly publication, and adding more risks diluting it. How is there the time to do justice to it all?

Andrew Brain

How many people are in the aluminium print tier? An extra £70 isn’t so easy to swallow.

Warren Lapworth

Bi-monthly would be a real treat. Hoping that the content is there to make that worthwhile. If you feel there is, I'm 100% in. Just don't burn yourself out doing Crash and Zzap!64, and the annuals, and, and...

João Ventura

Merry Crispness all! As long as they're all as good as the first then I have no problem with it ;)

Matt Carpenter

Would be great to see it go bi-monthly!

Mark Derham

Merry Christmas Chris! Loving the new revived Crash so far. If you feel you can keep up with a bi-monthly magazine that would be great and I'd support it - there certainly seems to be enough going on in the Speccy World these days to justify it! But don't go burning yourself out. :)

Tim Wright

Merry Christmas (everyone!). I would be happy to see it bi-monthly if you feel there is enough good material to justify it.

Paul Watson

Issuse one is great. I would be happy to support bi-monthly.

Sean Paling

Merry Christmas guys. I'd buy crash whether it's 4 or 6 a year, but again don't get burnt out, so perhaps see how the first year goes? I'm not a c64 fan but am supporting zzap too. Not sure I would it that went more frequently tho.

Mark Stephens

Bi-monthly please! Congratulations on issue one. It's awesome. The annual is amazing too. Great work Chris. Merry Christmas and thanks for the card !

Chris King

In two minds about this. Half of me says "Bring it on!", the other half says "Well, I signed up on the basis it was quarterly" - but I know that would have still signed up if it was declared as bi-monthly from the start. And the difference between quarterly and bi-monthly is only two issues per year, so when you look at it like that... I'm inclined to agree with Dimitris - keep it quarterly for now, then re-propose bi-monthly if and when it becomes clearly apparent that you consistently have enough material to warrant it. But it's already looking like we're in the minority!

Ian Thompson

I’d keep it quarterly if that helps maintaining the good quality. If you feel like you can keep up with a bi-monthly, then go for it

Fermin Bernaus Berraondo

May you have a wonderful Christmas this year, and yes bi-monthly will be great.

Hendrik Bezuidenhout

Merry Christmas Chris and Co. Yes I would support bi-monthly

Marcello Gualano

Merry Christmas !!

DIMITRIS GALLIKAS

i d say keep it first quarterly see how it goes ...(economicaly is gonna be a difficult year) and maybe see it bi monthly next year...

DIMITRIS GALLIKAS

Merry Xmas and bi-monthly sounds a good idea, so long as you all don’t get burnt out, as after all it should be something you all continue to enjoy doing and not become a chore 👍🏻

Howard Knibbs

I'd say keep it quarterly, and keep it quality.

Roger Isaac

Bi-monthly would be great. In all honesty quarterly seems like too big a gap between issues considering how active the Speccy community is these days.

Dion Guy

Very happy with bi-monthly, so long as the level of new content can be maintained (have no doubt it can seeing the wonderful new ZX Spectrum releases on Twitter almost daily). Happy Christmas, thanks for all the Crash this year.

Chris

Hello, still awaiting my issue but it's not a problem as I appreciate the post is all over the place. Yes sounds good to me!

Retroplayer

Hi Chris, loving the magazine and would definitely support making this bi-monthly.

Ted Griffiths

Merry Christmas. Bi-monthly Crash would be amazing! Lots going on with the Next right now so hopefully no shortage of games to write about. Thank you for Issue 1.

Ryan Scoular

Firstly just received my Crash- Many thanks Chris- it was well worth the wait and much appreciated. Secondly- yes yes and yes again- I’d love to see Crash bi monthly- it’s wonderful to have it full stop but bi monthly is even better. I’d definitely buy it! Finally- Compliments of the season to you and your family. Anders
