I am not gonna post it anywhere else because im pretty sure i dont know what im doing but maybe that could help you or just interesting (idk why tho)
- i mostly use camera angle as a base and try to recreate pose from memory/or make it just similar. I refer to anatomy only when im confused about specific parts as its a part of learning.
- Background also kinda resembles whats on the reference but with less details an obviously different season. It really depends on the mood if there are more details or straighter lines really.
- Blur is not an esthetic choice by all means. Its a cutting corners tool. You can slack hard on doing backgrounds. Sometimes i even copy objects or straight up pick colors from reference which are then look okayish after blur on bg. I think its a bad thing in general but its a massive time saver. And for me who is more character focused I think it works okay.
- Custom brushes are really good to use. But here i dont really have many, so cant realyl go deeper into that. If you want to know an amazing artist who uses a lot of custom brushes and it looks amazing look up @Porforever on twitter. A lot of their arts are done with custom brushes, they look amazing, and im not the only person who will tell you: use custom brushes and textures. Thats the biggest advantage of digital art.
- Overall everything is around cutting corners in general with me. I tried many times to put more effort in doing arts, but it all ended up shit because im not that experience and in general just really slow learner with art stuff.
Thats why i was always trying to do it faster to get to next one to study quicker. Im pretty sure it isnt really working but thats all i kinda do now - sketchy fast but in big numbers (even tho i slowed down quite a bit now)
And to be honest i never really aimed or liked "realistic" style. Completely subjectively; literally just me. If you go through my saved stuff its all either impressive sketchy speed arts or just really good anotomy.
Or skinny anime girls.
bruh

its not a tutorial in any means
