I'm a bit embarrassed to tell you that

I switched to working on yet ANOTHER game.

Okay hear me out now, I realize switching projects so often and so quickly might be somewhat jarring, but I have (or had) a very good reason to switch to working on a different project. I was contacted by a company who was interested in sponsoring a video of mine, which is pretty exciting! We are still working on the details so it's possible it might not happen, regardless I was under the impression that the company would like a sponsored video to come out sooner than later, and I at the time was working on projects that would take a bit longer to make.

I am also making efforts to ease myself into a position where I am making more videos more frequently, while maintaining decent video quality. We'll see how that turns out.

So in an ditch effort to make something fast that would hopefully still be enjoyable to watch a video about, I decided to make a stupid Slenderman clone about collecting mushrooms before getting caught by a tree root monster. The premise is that there is a you play as a father whos son gets inexplicably turned into a tree root (although not the same tree root as the monster that is chasing the player). The father/player must collect all the mushrooms at night while being chased in order to return the son to his human form. A mechanic I was playing with was the ability to turn off the flashlight and see where the glowing mushrooms are in the darkness, which you see at times in the video.

It's a terrible game so far and I'm not happy about that, but hopefully I can whip it into shape soon. It was only supposed to take a week or less to make but my desire for this to be a decent game is dragging it out 😐

That all being said, none of the previous projects are off the table, I still plan on making the cute vegetable farming horror game and the other bigger projects, I just wanted to let you all know where I am at rn.

I also want to apologize for not posting anything about this sooner. I honestly was a bit ashamed, which might sound stupid but I know there are a lot of people excited to see progress on other games and it feels a bit like I am letting you down when I tell you about how I'm spending my time doing something else. But if you do feel bummed about me switching projects again, the good news is that this game was meant to be over with quick.
