Ask Me Stuff If You Feel Like It
Added 2021-02-12 20:08:18 +0000 UTCI was thinking of doing this at the start of the month, but I hemmed and hawed around it for too long. Since there's a couple days left on my next picture, I figured I might as well go ahead with it now.
So if you've got any questions you'd like to ask me, feel free to post them here!
I'll give a response when I can, but please be aware that there are questions I'm not going to answer. This isn't an "ask me anything" for a reason, so avoid personal questions and the like.

2021-02-14 13:29:24 +0000 UTCWhile I definitely lean towards drawing Venus more than anyone else, honestly my favourite is a tie between her and Jupiter. Third for me is Uranus, with honourable mentions being Mercury, because I do like her design, and Chibi-Moon, because I really want to draw her in an action pose of some kind. Zero interest in anyone else. I'm not against doing them in casual outfits, but I find it harder/less interesting to think of situations for them to be in. One thing I DID give strong consideration to was using their appearance from the alternate universe side story "Parallel Sailor Moon", in which we briefly see them all as mothers and the story follows their children. The reason I drifted away from the idea though is that they look exactly the same so who would even notice :P It's kind of amazing how unhappily married they all are in that story, outside of Usagi. Makoto has been married for 7 years, but only lived with her husband for the last 2! :O

2021-02-13 19:52:40 +0000 UTCNo worries, it's a fair question! I've thought about it before, but I'm very "never look back" about my drawings. Maybe a little TOO much, since I forget about so many of them! :P What I'd rather do is draw a new picture with the character/costume from an old one. Not necessarily a recreation, but harkening back to an older one in some way. For example, and completely-off-the-top-of-my-head-and-definitely-not-something-I've-been-thinking-about-for-ages, drawing Bulma in her Namek oufit for a new/similar situation of sorts.

It's hard to describe, and I'm not exactly the best suited to be teaching anything to anyone about drawing, but I typically draw a square with a curved edge line the "finger side". Then, I extend it out so it becomes a curved box. Next, I draw circles where the knuckles of each finger will be, and from there I rough out the general finger shapes. I'd recommend looking up a bunch of different tutorials and guides, then using the parts that fit best for you to rough out your own method. The two things I find DiD artists struggle with are hands and mouths, since if you rarely ever need to draw them. As for favourite characters? I think it's no secret that I have a fondness for drawing Ino, but hands-down my favourite character to draw, and the most fun by a considerable margin, is my own character Freya. Not just because I made her, but I love drawing dynamic action poses and movement, which she's all about.

I think it may be cool to see how your art has developed/evolved (while it was always great, I feel like your drawing of lighting and character details & proportions has certainly gone to the next level). It's just a little idea, not trying to make any requests here <3.

I like the whole "short-conquering-the-tall" thing, so they fit the bill for that, but I also like how you can have them be bumbling idiots and add humour pretty easily to situations involving them. I've actually been meaning to design a species of small monsters of my own, amongst many other things, but I haven't gotten around to it.

I hated spending time drawing characters I actively disliked, even hated, the designs of, and this month has been great not having to do it. It's taken every fibre of my being to not close commissions for good too.

2021-02-13 00:18:14 +0000 UTCI don't watch much of anything generally, and anime even less, but the ones that jump to mind are Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Samurai Pizza Cats) Bubblegum Crisis (both versions), Tekkaman Blade (Technoman) and Outlaw Star (though all I remember about that is how much I love Aisha). There's probably like, one-or-two more along the way I can't remember. I saw some of Gundam Wing, but all I remember is that there are big robots.

After that I had an idea for a small comic featuring Sunmight, and the extra pic is something I wanted to do last month, but lacked time. I may lack time again, so who knows? Sorry for being vague about it, but I don't want to go getting anyone's hopes up for something that might very well not happen.
