hey ya'll, I recently learned about IOS aka Apple users being charged a 30% increase on pricing if you subscribe through the Patreon app. It should be obvious already, but if not, please know this is done by APPLE and IOS and not anyone as a creator.
I whole -heartedly agree that its ridiculous for them to charge anyone extra just because they are using the iOS app to subscribe. Many other Patreon users and creators are actively trying to protest this with Patreon but it is still a work in progress for this to change.
HERES HOW TO SUBSCRIBE WITH AN APPLE DEVICE WITHOUT BEING CHARGED EXTRA:
do NOT subscribe through the patreon app you download from the app store.
open the web browser and use patreon.com/ (whatever user) to subscribe
you CAN still use the iOS app to see posts from patreon and any content you're subscribed too, just dont use the app to complete the subscription purchase.
