RAPTURE'S SONGBIRD | EXCLUSIVE SET #1 OF DECEMBER

The last photoshoot of this month - Exclusive Set #1 of December - Rapture's Songbird! Let's complete this year with burlesque themed Elizabeth!

The idea of this photoshoot came to me when I was re-watching Bioshock Infinite gamemovies (I do it cause of lack of time recently). In Part II Elizabeth said that she was working with Cohen for 2 months and even recorded a song "You Belong to Me". I thought more and made an assumption "What would happen if Elizabeth was not only the singer but a burlesque artist". And in my mind came a concept with huge white fans. Then I started working on a sketch.

Honestly,  this month it was harded than ever to sum up the ideas for design - I guess I need some rest. This design was made according to one mass-market lingerie (which was the base of this item), original Elizabeth costume and many-many Dita Von Teese lingeries (love her style too much). I could say you would never recognize this base lingerie (it was bad fit) - my seamstress and I changed almost everything in it. I wanted this lingerie be different from the one I did in 2022 - comparing to my actual understanding it had many technical problems - it's good - means I'm getting better in it. This complect should be more light and more white. My favourite part is - puffy parts with tens of parellel lines. This parts was very often used in 1950s lingeries. I made them by myself: put together white atlas (Atlas XD) and padding polyester (4 layers) and sew many white lines on a sewing machine in night (poor neighbours). Then seamstress combined them all together. I think writing about seconds layers of atlas, remaking of bra, adding openwork elastic laces and red bows and other necessary and long-to-make stuff is too boring to read, I just need to highlight that this things were made. Unfortunately everybody is very on edge this month (my seamstress too) and we divided this work in two - I also take part in sewing.  Gloves are made from shiny polyester and decorated with this retro fold with black lace plus gems by me (anybody is surprised? XD).

The fans - I still couldn't believe my luck! When I decided to have them on my photoshoot, I was about to make them by myself, even if it was too expensive. I understood that I got many study duties and I just might not have made it in time (this year XD). I remembered, that my friend started do burlesque and I decided to write her without any hope that I will find something. She said that she will ask girls. After a half of month she wrote that one girl could give them - PERFECT WHITE FANS - I can't decribe how happy I was in this moment! HUGE THANKS to @vixena_siren (my friend) and @doravalker (owner of fans)! In December the help of other people was so irreplaceable, without them I wouldn't finish it in the way I planned!

This Bioshock poster with Elizabeth I also printed specially for the photoshoot - now it's the part of my home decorations!

"Funny" moment: for Elizabeth photoshoot I drove from the university - it means I should have everything - costume, lingerie, shoes, head with wig with tripod, technique, fans (!), poster - all of this, when I went to "school" haha. I felt like a donkey with luggage! I was very heavy burden and tiring day.

About retouch: tomorrow will be the huge mailing - Cruella (lingerie), Shani (costume and lingerie), Roses, Thorns and Love sets. I'm not sure I will manage to finish Moonlight Fairy, but it's in process too! Other sets will be finished in January 2024.
