CARMILLA OF STYRIA | MAIN SET OF OCTOBER

Hi, my sweethearts! <3

Ocrober is the month of horror, creepy monsters, ghosts... and vampires, of course! The Main set of this month is Carmilla of Styria - gorgeous lady from Castlevania!

You know that I've already have 4 photoshoots of Lenore from these series, I would like to create a company for her with Carmilla.

This character is the first one with fully white hair and it was a bit challenging for me, because it's hard it the final retouch match the color of my skin and hair. Honestly, retouching and shooting were the hardest parts for me. My photographer and I needed to keep the optimal light and shadow balance to avoid overexposure and too dark "blacks". And, unfortunately, shooting was divided into two days to finish. In addition, I would like to say that the studio wasn't very rich in furniture and textures, so we tried to fill the space with smoke and some details like candles (but I guess I will put the smoke here anyway, I do loove this effect XD).  I could say that the shooting inself took a lot of my nerves,  I don't say that we got the can't-believeble result, but to get the shots which you could see now, we tried very meticulously. 

Let's talk about costume and wig themselfs. The dress is made of stchetchy red velvet (I could say more "bloody"). It was sewed by my amazing seamstress <3 I decided to change the original design a bit - sleeves were separeted from the main part - in my opinion it looks better to show the figure. The shoes were maliciosly stolen from Ahri XD and of course primed and colored in mirror golden. Fake red claws were cut and sharpened to reach the right shape. And we are near the queens of this photoshoot - shoulder pads. I've never did them before. As always I wanted to upgrade the original form - I combined two versions of Carmilla pads and get the new ones. And my head was in flame when I thought about making them! I researched all over the internet and didn't get how to construct the right shape. And I returned to something old and time-tested - take a form with maskimg tape. But the question - what I should use as base? And the brilliant idea got in my mind - silicone pads for boobs XDD Sorry, boooys! Yes, I attached them to my mannequin and pasted the tape all over it! And.. it was really perfect! then I painted the particular shape, cut it out, and cut it to pieces where the seams should be. After it I cut 4 details from EVA-foam (70mm) and glued halves together. Overall I had 5 seams on each pad. Then I primed it with liquid nails with water 4-5 times, and processed with sandpaper. Before painting in mirror golden, I primed them with liquid resin. After drying I covered  lower parts of details with a little layer of black paint using airbrush. And deleted unnecessary painted parts with airbrush cleaner (it didn't erased the golden paint underneath). And they're ready!

About the wig: I decided to change the style a bit. I don't like hair when it fit tightly to the head and doesn't have the volume. So I raised the bangs around the face. Then I cut the wig and made all the bangs be a bit curled inwards. Hope you will forgive me this tiny change!

About retouch: I finished "Yennefer" (lingerie), "Burgundy Pearl" and Feast of Flowers sets and tomorrow I will do the mailing. Cruella sets are planned to be sent in October, other sets will be send in order! Sorry for the long wait, hope you will love the result!
