Something that is a little hard to notice is the reason why Mia overdoses. The drug that Vincent is carrying is heroine (I think), which is supposed to be injected, but his dealer doesn't have the proper container (he calls it a "balloon", which to be honest I don't even know what it looks like) so he puts it in a bag. When Mia sees the drug in the bag she thinks it's cocaine and snorts it, which obviously doesn't go well. It's just a little detail but I think it adds an extra layer to Vincent's carelessness.
