Meet Klara, my new model from Sunday's shooting.
This is just a taste of what's to come, and more is coming here and elsewhere in the following days.
But, in the following days, I have an important decision to make, about buying or not the big brother of the Fujifilm X100VI, the medium format GFX 50SII.
To make my decision, I will have to work exclusively on the photos I shot on the X100VI during this Sunday.
I need to understand if I would be ok working mainly on the square format, and how Lightroom Classic is coping with the Fujifilm RAW files, especially for skin tones, which are a large component of my project.
Judging by this first photo I edited after a long and fatiguing day, things are working out fine, and I like the result.
On the other hand, this is not the way I'm going to use the GFX!
That behemoth will require a much more careful approach, compared to the joyful approach I sampled today on the X100V, placing it on the floor and relaying on the AF to capture the occasional athletic drive of Klara, with the added benefit of such a generous depth of field...
Most likely, the two Fujifilm cameras could work together in the same shooting to give a similar feel, but with a radically different look.
Difficult to explain, but I guess you'll end up understanding what I mean if and when you're going to see the photos from both cameras side by side, and this might happen in time for the next shooting (not yet confirmed).
In the mean time, let's enjoy this new and talented model from Rome!
