2023-06-24 23:03:26 +0000 UTCYes all the kids were dead already, their body parts left just stopped floating. Yes there is a chapter 2 if u want to learn more. IT wasn't from earth and it's true form was basically a huge spider alien thing in the original movie which shows both chapters of kids young & old. U should check out chapter 2 as it has flashbacks and isn't as bad with the kid characters as adults.
