I'm a little late to the party but I loved your YouTube reactions so much that I had to join to watch the full ones.. LOL A couple things, Harry's money is inherited on his father's side from his grandfather who invented a popular hair grow potion.. Also the school years pretty much follow the ages for secondary school in the UK 11 to 16/17 or so.. Oh and Harry's Dad faced Voldemort as he entered the house and was killed first while his Mom ran to try to protect Harry in his crib..

That is how he had so much gold in his vault. It's all just inherited and none of the Potters really lived extravagant lives so its just there. His aunt and uncle are not aware of the money or they would have taken it all for having to raise Harry.
