I totally understand the "uncomfortable" feeling that one UK girl felt towards Taylor's visuals for TLOAS. We haven't seen Taylor wear these kinds of fits, and I am LOVING it, don't get me wrong. I think it's SO hot, but I kinda get the whole "it's like seeing your mother or Jesus naked." We've seen this woman grow PHYSICALLY as well as mentally/emotionally SINCE her debut. This isn't the same girl talking about crashing your truck, AND THAT'S OKAY!! I think some people forget that Taylor is a WOMAN at the end of the day, and is ALLOWED to express her sexuality, and she does it tastefully too!

I also wonder if she might be feeling more uninhibited now that she feels more supported as well because I could totally see the heirloom turkey being snarky about even tasteful shots like these too and trying to stifle her simulated nude Bejewled ass (like literally but also figuratively too ofc 😆)

I find the focus to be more on her perspective and her feeling than on the proverbial partner/subject of the song, which is why I think they have a different feeling than say a Sabrina song.

Not to bring up The Weeknd for the 1000th time, but he/the label chose the absolute worst song for a single, ("Timeless") featuring Playboi Carti, who did not even hold the mic to his mouth when lip syncing at the shows I went to. He also ruined The Weeknd's Grammy comeback performance, which could have been the kickoff to a hit album, and reminded people how good he is. The song is ok and has its place in the story on the album, but it is typical old school, partying Weeknd + rap feature. The rest of the record is incredible, he belts like crazy, and it spans so many genres, but no one will ever know! I hope, like you, that TS does not drop a single. You know people will go IN on her and the record so quick... :(

She’s never made any real bedroom music. It’s wild to me how many people treat her like a children’s artist. People in real life at my office say “oh yeah my 11 year old granddaughter loves her” and things like that. I’m GenX but I know I’m not too old for Taylor. She’s 35 people!

The waiting for Life of a Showgirl reminds me of waiting for the last day of school as a kid and the anticipation is so delicious. Between EOAS, Lizard Review, and Swiftologist...the Showgirl content is so top tier that I forgot a lead single existed😘 Also lead singles feel dated to me now - I enjoy consuming albums as full projects

As for Max Martin, he’s been really busy with “&Juliet” the last few years, so I think that’s why he hasn’t been as prevalent on the pop scene. It takes a really long time to write and launch a Broadway show. Now that it’s off and running he’s able to return to working with pop artists.
