It’s actually just the first inspiration I had when I started making videos for FFXIV. I had it in my head to give it the feeling/appearance of a JRPG and immediately started working towards that goal. Once I found Archie the rest was history :)

2024-09-19 06:39:11 +0000 UTCI've been lucky enough to work from home and, cuz of all of you, earn enough to allow my wife to watch them full-time, so I'm very happy about that. I try to prioritize them by setting specific work hours so I can get things done but also spend time with them. I don't enjoy telling them to stay out of my office while I work, but if I don't I won't get anything done. Still, it's nice that they want my attention. I'll try and set time aside to take them with me on errands or have daddy-daughter dates with my oldest here and there. We'll go grab some snacks from the store and pick a park to just sit and hang out at when the weather is nice, or recently she was content to have me drive her around while she spun pokestops on my phone lol. I think, for me, it's developing patience so that I'm not always raising my voice when they cross boundaries, but also find a way to make it clear without them causing a scene. Thankfully I'm figuring out their senses of humor and that's helped diffuse situations where they start hitting me with the pouty lip or I feel a tantrum coming on.

But I have been considering another video about my editing process to hopefully give up-and-coming talent some pointers. Just gotta find a time to squeeze it in between everything else lol

The latest ordeal with our son is about to come to a close with his surgery next month and after that I think we can breathe a little easier. Or as easy as we can with 4 little rugrats running around lol. But it is very stressful and we're trying to figure out how and when to relax. It's been about 5 months of constant stress.

Since I often hear "oh we figured out how to beat fights in FFXIV based on watching your videos and learning what NOT to do" that I'd lean into the notion. Just a full video of showing what can go wrong rather than how to actually do it correctly. And it gives me an excuse to snipe Keaton every few pulls :) Other than that, really just leaning into the discussion series.

The raids are fairly interesting, especially this expansion, but I don't think I'd have the patience to deal with a brand new group. Or find something to grind towards. I find that little achievements like leveling classes or gearing up crafters/gatherers kept me motivated. Cuz it sure ain't the combat.

2024-09-19 05:49:24 +0000 UTCHmm, that's a good question. I prefer to make content with friends, but if I were going solo then I might lean fully into the Pokémon TCG, yeah. It's one I have a fair amount of knowledge in and I'm actually pretty good at so I think it could work out if I gave it my all. I do have my fingers crossed that Ashes of Creation will be worth the wait too, though.

A part of me is finding a bit of relief from having him being taken care of by people whose job it is to help raise and teach them; the other part is worried about missing out/not watching over him. What's your concerns like, whenever you're raiding, editing, and surviving life-sized tank busters?
