Designing a job for FFXIV! (Fan Theorycraft) - Corsair ep. 2

This isn't a recommendation to the dev team to make this job, just an exercise to see if we can come up with something that would work in FFXIV and hopefully be fun to play as well.

Looking forward to more feedback so we can close this series out in the next one and move on to another job.

So... Watching both videos and here my notes so far on the job. . Does this job have too many complex mechanics, and would players be able to play it well during stressful and difficult mechanics? (this has been streamlined down to a bit more basic to deal with the complex mechanic) However, too streamlined can ended up with jobs such as MCH or SMN. As this I don't think would be any problem. . Does it punish heavily if a player fails the rotation? (The punishment is not to serve and not as potent to the player) . Does this involve RNG as one of its mechanics? (One that comes to mind is the booty mechanic. As it is now, the mechanic is different and easy enough to follow. It would just be two problems in this case. For one, what would be the percentage? As 50% chance of obtaining a booty will be too low, and anything higher than 80% will not be balanced if this is goes for the RNG route.) (Secondly, design-wise, it is a bit somewhat in the gray area as this mechanic is too similar to some jobs like AST, PLD, DRK, or any jobs that include throwing abilities at them. But this is just me. However, I wonder if it is possible to twinkle with this mechanic to be where Corsair drops the booty either by placing it underneath yourself or throwing it at a distance to nearby players. So the players can either pick them up or walk toward where you drop the booty.) . I think having the ability to swap between range and melee is a nice addition idea to differentiate between other jobs. With the entire kit will be more switching play style and abilities to whatever style you pick either melee or range, could help create different results in a fight. . So would the ammo gauge with the pistol attack and the second pistol attack with 50 potencies mean? Does it mean the attack should be better if it is automatic or else?
