We've moved! (Life Post)
Added 2016-09-02 05:12:06 +0000 UTCSo I've talked about this a bit before and on streams, but to keep you most loyal and devoted fans in the loop, we have moved away from Phoenix, AZ. We're still in AZ and are actually with my parents for the time being. There was a job opportunity here that would allow me to get experience in education without a lot of the red tape you see elsewhere (fuck you, recruiters, you can't make me go back to school for a Master's! ... yet). I'm aiming for a long-term sub position, so we'll see how well that goes through. So far so good, but the dust is still settling from getting here over this past week and hopefully things will clear up soon.
I am embarassed to admit I'm back with my parents, but at the same time it's been a frustrating journey just out of college. Over the course of a year, the only real job opportunity I had was with SE on the community team while others haven't even called me back. Dozens of resumes just unanswered. Not to stack my woes for you all, but just to make the point that I have tried to make things work while I build my channel and content base. Things were so much easier when I was still a student, I never had trouble getting a job...
Anyway, we're here now and the only down-side honestly is the hit to my pride. We have easily 3x the space to ourselves as our old apartment, my folks respect Yuni's my independence and our privacy, and Ari has a room to herself (hooray!). All that and we're saving money from not paying rent. This will be a temporary thing, but things could honestly be much worse and I'm very blessed to have such a home to return to while we get back on our feet. I'm also thankful my mother took me seriously when I commented on the slow internet speed. "I think we have the highest they offer" she said. "Uh oh..." said I. Couple days later, "Oh, we had the lowest option available. We're at the highest now." and a sigh of relief could be heard throughout the city. Just had a guy come today to fix the cable wiring after 10 years of no Ethernet port signal to my brother's old room, or rather my new office. (Suck it, Tyler!)
That about does it. I'll be continuing to work hard to live based on my own merit and survive without the support of my parents, and I appreciate you all supporting me and allowing that to happen. Slowly but surely we move forward and upward and it's most certainly appreciated. Thank you all.

Hey, you shouldn't think your pride is on the line, when it's this hard to get started in life, you need everything you can get.
2016-09-03 08:28:06 +0000 UTCYou gotta do what's best for your family, even if it means choking on your pride a bit. Things will turn around with time, all it takes is one win. You got this :D
