Japan Day 4

Oooooooooow! Sunburned, sore, but at least a little drunk. I'll count today as a win. The official tour started, so my hunt for FFXIV and MH souvenirs has been put on hold. I did, however, have the chance to stifle my laughter during the history lesson during our tour through the museum of the Edo period, mostly because of the mention of Commodore Perri (or whatever) "knocking the doors to Japan down". While all I heard was "Open the country... Stop having it be closed". It was perfect. After that we got to visit a Buddhist temple during the Sannja Matsuri (three fisher festival) and tried all the fabled festival foods from the stand we'd only seen in anime up till now. They had it all. While most of our group picked restaurants, my sister and I perused the aisles of stands to get our fill of snacks. And more sunburned (did I mention I was sunburned?) Takoyaki, ganja(?)yaki, chocolate dick fruit on a stick (choco banana), a couple of those cool marble sodas, and melon bread. The melon bread is my new crack. And the guy advertising it actually jumped on me in excitement when we made our way back for seconds, lol. The first time he took our picture when we said we were from AZ. We were also able to help a few younger Japanese find the stand and were very excited when I tossed a couple Japanese words at them. Like very happy, multiple bows. It just felt good. Next was a lovely stroll through the East Imperial garden where I stifled the pain in my burnt neck, aching feet, and bursting bladder which decided it had to relieve itself the minute we left the rest area. My body is out to get me. After a loooooooooong walk through there, we finally got back to the hotel where we walked a significantly shorter distance to a restaurant where we were given "all we can drink". Jackpot. Or it would have been if they weren't so noticeably understaffed... Even though we had a planned tour to go through there... Seriously. What little alcohol I got in my system is now going to be used to put me to sleep. Thanks again so much for your support and I'll catch you guys tomorrow!
