So back in the hotel for the night. I really don't think our legs could've taken anymore, lol. It's hard to even walk around the room at this point which I'm really hoping wears off with some good (but painful) stretches and a good night's rest. We had a couple near awkward situations when going to lunch and subsequently at a ¥100 shop where the language barrier was in the way. Fortunately pictures and commonly known gestures respectively saved the day and we weren't held up. If anything will spur me to hit the grindstone on studying the language more for next time, it's been today. Our tour officially starts tomorrow night but we came an extra couple days early to have the city to ourselves and I'm grateful for that experience. It was a bit scary, but good and lots of fun nonetheless. I hadn't spent much money up till this point and hit the mother load when we got to a bookstore where I found the BIGGEST monster hunter X guide. It was about ¥27 so I took the plunge and got it. I've got google translate for all the interesting parts, but I intend to use it as cross-reference later on to practice reading kanji. Hopefully I'll stick to that. I just about lost it when I saw it in the store. There were many contained and excited squeaks coming from my face. Aside from that we made a biiiig loop back around to our hotel where we passed by an insane number of apartment buildings with some houses just off behind them. I've never seen so many buildings so close and so high; about 10-15 floors each. They ranged from looking pretty ratty to very posh rather quickly too. Now then, I will get back to my guidebook, study up on some more Japanese, and hit the hay because I am exhausted. Thanks for reading up, guys, and I'll try and keep you posted when I have the energy!
