I remember watching this on TV as a kid and not liking it, and for the longest time, I couldn't understand why people liked Superman as a character. Of course, later I watched the Justice League cartoon and now the original Superman, and now i have a way better understanding of his character. But, watching this film on its own with no context, paints a very odd characterization of Superman as a character.

An extremely renowned actor, well-known for his theatrical performances, as part of the Royal Shakespeare Compnay and also appearing in films like Shakespeare in Love and Mrs. Brown, Erik The Viking, & Wolfman.
