A Kimono is a thick garment, normally with a white layer underneath it as it's used in ceremonies, weddings, formal occasions etc. It comes with a really thick obi belt. A Yukata on the other hand, is made out of cotton, so it's super light and you don't need to wear anything underneath. It's worn normally during summer and is super light and keeps you cool! :D
