The Rings of Power 2x3 Uncut Reaction!

Comments

This episode put the "fling" into halfling.

Kenneth Smith

To add some info to Adam's explanation of the absence of Bronwyn's actress due to "private" reasons: The actress Nazanin Boniadi said she would not return for season 2 because she wanted to step away from acting (at least partly) for a very noble reason in my opinion, to quote her: "“I stepped away from acting in September 2022, to focus solely on the #WomanLifeFreedom uprising in Iran and to advocate for the people of my homeland who have been risking everything for freedom,” she wrote. “Despite my passion for acting, I knew it would take a very special project to convince me to once again split my time between my day job and my calling as an activist. A Mosquito in the Ear is that project…a beautiful adventure that we can’t wait to share with you.” " Source: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/rings-of-power-season-2-nazanin-boniadi-bronwyn-1235912007/ - I will miss her in that role forever, but I tip my hat for that sacrifice and choice of her. And after I red that I thought, she brought that activist's energy and verve to the character and that was what made her performance so convincing and authentic.

So, I’m not crazy thinking Sam Hazeldine slightly resembles Sean Bean? Whew!

And I think the quote just became 100x better now

I feel so pedantic typing this but the Durin quote is "Give me the meat and give it to me raw". Great reaction as always!

Does the Balrog only deal with dwarves and mines?

Dakota Jones

I love the dwarves so much.

Another episode I really liked. I am definitely enjoying this season so far. Even with the focus on the Numenorean politics this episode (which is the storyline I am least interested in), this was a strong episode. I really liked the stuff with Isildur and Arondir. And, the quality of this production continues to be so high - all the different environs look so rich and well-crafted.
