Batman Returns Uncut Reaction!

What's up, homies! In anticipation of The Flash we're revisiting the films that introduced us to Michael Keaton's Batman. This week, we're watching Batman Returns! Yes, Agustin hasn't seen this one either.

So check out his reaction.

At least once a year I watch the masquerade dance scene with Bruce and Selina. It’s the best moment in the movie, a master class of layered performances with searing chemistry and an incredible needle drop of Siouxsie and the Banshees. Bruce is only there to see her. She is only there to kill Max. It’s dripping with sexuality. Beneath that are two deeply wounded people finding each other. The way she laughs when he asks you f she and Max are dating is manic. Imagine it — you’ve got one of the beautiful women in the world pressed against you (“Semi-hard, I’d say.”), and realize she’s gone insane. You’re holding onto a cyclone. Keaton plays this bewilderment beautifully. Then he notices the gun. His double take and immediate switch into serious mode is pure a Bruce Wayne/Batman moment. Yet he can’t stop staring at her. “Who do you think you are?” “I don’t know, Bruce.” Pfeiffer’s eyes are devastating. AUGH. Just go watch it again right now! https://youtu.be/GuidzJ0iyVs

I loved this movie so much when it came out. I was only 3 when Batman 89 came out and I didn't see it until my uncle bought it on VHS. However, I was ready when Batman Returns came out. It was such an experience. I loved the over-sexualized, gothic madness. In hindsight the movie kinda sucks as a Batman movie but I still love the vibe.

I watched this movie and loved what Michelle Pfeiffer did with the role of Cat Woman. Every actress who has ever played the part, since the Adam West/Bat Man tv series, each brought their own take and sensuality to the role and did a fabulous job!

I saw this movie as part of a double feature with Lethal Weapon 3 in a drive in. I think I was 10 or about to be. I just remember it being super weird. But the toys (me and my brother had so many micro machines from the Burton movies) and some of the iconic moments are burned into my childhood. I don’t think I’ve watched this move from beginning to end in over a decade so it was a trip to watch it as an adult and see just how insane it is. Need to get on that comic Hector was talking about

It has been a long time since I have seen this one and it is probably my least watched of the Batman films. I still do not like the direction they went with The Penguin. I am not knocking Danny Devito's performance as he went full force with what Burton was looking for. The mixture of playing up this disgusting side and how dark he is with wanting to kill the 1st born sons was too much. Michael Keaton was still great, but wish there was more of him in it. Michelle Pfeiffer killed it and created an iconic Catwoman. I think I am going to go watch Stardust later tonight as that was another super fun role to see her in. Did they establish the timeline for this movie, because if it happens the year after Batman 89, then Chip can get recruited into the specialized CIA squad with the codename Butterfinger and go up against Hudson Hawk... which came out in 91. Looking forward to the Indy movie watch-a-longs before the end of the month with you guys.
