I think the comment about rewatching the Guardians movies one after the other, and focusing solely on the Guardians character, makes this movie more impactful. I don't remember feeling as sad when I watched this in theatres, but with this one, from the first movie to this, we can see how much more tight knit they've become as a group.

The humor totally meshes with what I like, and the overall themes and character arcs are powerful. Glad you all liked it more than you remembered. ☺️

2023-04-17 00:33:11 +0000 UTCI loved the rewatch with you guys. I think it's the 4th or 5th time I watched it, but the last time sure was a few years ago. Vol. 2 is my favorite. It strikes chords with me much more tha Vol. 1. Yondu is the best character and the performance of this actor Rooker is so natural and true, outstanding. I like almost all the jokes and humor. When I saw the first movie I didn't get why people liked it and the hype around it. It took this Vol. 2 to feel it and when there is a George Harrison song in it...

2023-04-16 20:52:03 +0000 UTCLike many of us, I have father issues, and this hit home so hard! It is one of the few MCU films that get me in tears every time. I understand it's not eveveryone's favorite, but there are beautiful aspects of acceptance and found family. The jokes can be a bit much, especially from Rocket, but who hasn't overcompensated when hurting on the inside? I love you guys; always the best homies to watch this stuff with.

Me and my dad do not have a connection and he tries to build one with me but when they left Cali after visiting me in college before they left we saw this and after we just hugged for a long time and I cried in his chest. Then was sad they left. One of few times we have had a moment in life.

2023-04-16 00:07:08 +0000 UTCI love aspects of this movie a lot. The story between Gamora and Nebula is great but the bad jokes just never end. The characters spend far too much time laughing at what they said trying to convince you its funny. Sadly, very few of them were actually funny.

2023-04-15 20:51:30 +0000 UTCDo you guys think that maybe part of the reason this hits better is that you are more used to or have had more experience with James Gunn's humor from his other projects? I think what Ego said about loving Peter's mom was the truth and maybe that was what actually carried his "gift" through to their child. I also wonder if Ego ran into the Celestials at one point and just assumed he was one of them when he could be something entirely different.
